Թեյը նվազեցնում է քաղցկեղի զարգացման ու կանանց մոտ մետաբոլիզմի հետ կապված խնդիրները՝ փոխելով այդ հիվանդությունների հետ կապված գեների սպիտակուցային «փաթեթավորումը», ասվում է Human Molecular Genetics ամսագրում հրապարակված հոդվածում։ «Նման դրական ազդեցությունները բնորոշ էին կանանց, այլ թե տղամարդկանց համար։
Մեր գործընկերները արդեն ցույց են տվել, որ թեյի կիրառումը նվազեցնում է էստրոգենի մակարդակը, ինչը կարող է բացատել այդ ըմպելիքին օրգանիզմի արձագանքների տարբերությունը։ Բացի դրանից կանայք ավելի շատ թեյ են խմում, քան տղամարդիկ, ինչը նույնպես ամրապնդում է մեր եզրակացությունները»,- պատմում է Վերոնիկա Էկը Ուպսալայի համալսարանից։ Խմորիչի քրոմոսոմները, ինչպես նաեւ մարդու ու բջջային ընդհանուր միջուկով այլ կենդանի արարածների գենետիկ նյութը փաթեթավորված են հատուկ սպիտակուց- գիստոնների մեջ, որոնք սեղմված ԴՆԹ-ն իր տեղում են պահում ու ազդում առանձին գեների «հաշվելիության» վրա։
Էկն ու նրա գործընկերները բացահայտել են նոր՝ այս անգամ դրական կապ ԴՆԹ-ի փաթեթավորման ու հիվանդությունների նկատմամբ հակման միջեւ, փորձելով հասկանալ, թե ինչպես կարող են թեյն ու սուրճը ազդել տղամարդկանց ու կանանց գեների ընթերցելիության վրա։ Այդ նպատակով գիտնականները վերլուծել են ԴՆԹ-ի կառուցվածքն ու դրա սպիտակուցային «փաթեթները» Եվրոպայի երեք հազար բնակիչների մոտ ու համադրել գեների ակտիվության տարբերությունները այն հանգամանքի հետ, թ ե որքան հաճախ են նրանք օգտագործում երկու ըմպելիքները։ Պարզվել է, որ տարբերություններ իրոք գոյություն ունեին, սակայն դրանք կան կանանց, եւ ոչ թե տղամարդկանց օրգանիզմում ու առաջանում էին միայն թեյ օգտագործելիս։ Ընդհանուր առմամբ փոխվել էր գենոմի 28 հատվածների «փաթեթների» կառուցվածքը, դրանցից երկուսը ՝ DNAJC16-ն ու TTC17-ը ամենաշատն էին փոխվում մեծ քանակության թեյ օգտագործելիս։
Այդ երկու գեները, գիտնականների խոսքով, կապակցված են բջիջի «ինքնաոչնչացման» համակարգի մեկնարկի հետ՝ դրա ԴՆԹ-ի վնասվածքի ու բորբոքային պրոցեսներին արձագանքների դեպքում ու դրանց աշխատանքում անոմալիաները կարող են հանգեցնել քաղցկեղի , դիաբետի զարգացմանն ու այլ առողջական խնդիրների։ Դա կարող է բացատրել, թե ինչու են շատ թեյ խմող կանայք միջինը ավելի հազվադեպ տառապում կրծքի ու այլ օրգանների քաղցկեղից, քան թույլ սեռի մյուս ներկայացուցիչները։
