• Այրվածքի հատվածը առնվազն 5 րոպե կամ՝ մինչեւ ցավի անցնելը սառը հոսող ջրի տակ պահեք: Կարելի է նաեւ սառը ջրով լի տարայի մեջ մտցնել կամ սառը թրջոցների օգնությամբ այրված հատվածի զովացում իրականացնել: 

• Այրվածքի վրա սառույց մի դրեք, քանի որ ցրտահարման դեպքում մաշկին պատճառված վնասը կարող է առավել մեծ չափերի հասնել: 

• Այրվածքը զգուշորեն բինտով ծածկեք կամ փաթաթեք՝ օդի հետ շփումը բացառելու, ցավը մեղմելու եւ այտուցվածությունից խուսափելու նպատակով: Ընդ որում, վիրակապը չպետք է ամուր լինի: 

• Բամբակ մի օգտագործեք:

• Դեղատներում ազատ վաճառքի ենթակա ցավարկողներ՝ իբուպրոֆեն կամ ացետամինոֆեն տվեք: Ասպիրին չի կարելի:

• Փոքր այրվածքները սովորաբար մասնագիտական բուժման կարիք չունեն, սակայն հարկավոր է զգուշամիտ լինել՝ ինֆեկցիայի առկայության մասին վկայող նշանների նկատմամբ, որոնցից են ցավի ավելացումը, վերքի կարմրությունը, այտուցվածությունը, հեղուկ զանգվածի արտադրությունը եւ բարձր ջերմությունը: Ախտանշանների շարունակականության պարագայում հարկավոր է բժշկի օգնությանը դիմել: Ինֆեկցիայի առաջացման հավանականությունը նվազեցնելու նպատակով, առաջացած այտուցները պայթեցնել չի կարելի:

Արեւային հարվածի առկայության մասին վկայող նշաններն են մարմնի բարձր ջերմությունը, սրտի արագ աշխատանքը, արագ եւ թույլ շնչառությունը, արյան բարձր կամ ցածր ճնշումը, քրտնարտադրության դադարեցումը, գրգռվածությունը, խառնաշփոթությունը կամ գիտակցության կորուստը:

Եթե երեխայի մոտ արեւային հարված եք կասկածում, հարկավոր է անհապաղ ստվերոտ կամ զով վայր տեղափոխել ու անմիջապես շտապ օգնույթուն զանգահարել: Նախքան բրիգադի ժամանումը կարող եք սառը օդի աղբյուր ուղղել երեխային, խոնավ սավաններով ծածկել կամ սառը ջրով շփել:
