Եվ այսպես, նախագահական ընտրություններից 5 շաբաթ անց, կիրակի օրը Ֆրանսիայում նաև խորհրդարանական ընտրություններ անցկացվեցին: Բոլոր հարցումների համաձայն՝ նախագահ Էմանուել Մակրոնի նորաստեղծ En Marche կուսակցությունն, առաջին իսկ փուլում, բացարձակ մեծամասնության իրական հավակնորդ էր ընկալվում բոլոր շրջանակներում, և փորձագիտական հարթակներում խոսվում էր նույնիսկ այն մասին, որ En Marche–ը կարող է 400 մանդատ ստանալ 577 տեղանոց խորհրդարանում: Ի դեպ, նույն հարցումների համաձայն՝ 100 մանդատ էր կանխորոշվում Հանրապետական կուսակցության, 35` Ազգային ճակատի և մոտ 30 մանդատ` Սոցիալիստական կուսակցության համար: Ու թեպետ կիրակնօրյա իրականությունը տարբերվեց կանխատեսումներից, այդուհանդերձ, անակնկալներ տեղի չունեցան. Մակրոնի կամ Հինգերրորդ հանրապետության կողմնակիցները ստացան ձայների 32,32%–ը (մոտ 186 մանդատ), Հանրապետականները՝ 21,5% (124 մանդատ), Կոմունիստների ալյանսը՝ 13,74% (79 մանդատ), Լե–Պենի Ազգային ճակատը՝ 13,2% (76 մանդատ), Սոցիալիստների կուսակցությունը՝ 9,5% (55 մանդատ):
 
Իհարկե, սրանք վերջնական արդյունքներ չեն, և միայն ընտրությունների՝ հունիսի 18–ին անցկացվելիք երկրորդ փուլից հետո պարզ կդառնա, թե որ կուսակցությունն ինչպես կներկայացվի խորհրդարանում: Բայց այժմ արդեն ակնհայտ է, որ չափից ավելի նիհարիկ կենսագրություն ունեցող En Marche–ը լրջորեն վերաձևակերպեց ողջ քաղաքական դաշտը՝ վերջնականապես ազդարարելով ֆրանսիական Չորրորդ հանրապետության վախճանը, ինչին Փաստը բազմիցս է անդրադարձել:
 
 
Հավանաբար դա է պատճառը, որ Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելն ու այլք, չսպասելով նույնիսկ ընտրությունների երկրորդ փուլին, շտապեցին շնորհավորել Ֆրանսիայի նախագահին հաղթանակի կապակցությամբ: Ճիշտ է՝ ընտրությունների առաջին փուլն աչքի է ընկել Ֆրանսիայի ողջ պատմության համար ընտրողների աննախադեպ ցածր մասնակցությամբ (ընտրություններին ներկայացել էին ընտրողների 48,7%–ը, ինչը ցածր արդյունք էր նույնիսկ թույլ նախագահ համարվող Օլանդի ժամանակների 57,22%–ից), սակայն, հարկ է նաև նշել, որ կառավարման նախագահական համակարգի պայմաններում ֆրանսիացի ընտրողը երբեք էլ 65%–ի ակտիվությունը չի գերազանցել: Եվ որքան էլ ուլտրաաջ Ազգային ճակատի ղեկավար Մարին լը Պենն այս ցուցանիշը աղետալի որակի (անձամբ նա 45,2% ձայներով հաղթանակ է գրանցել Պա–դե–Կալեում), առջևում երկրոր փուլն է և, շատ հնարավոր է, ֆրանսիացի ընտրողն արդեն այդ ժամանակ առավել ակտիվ գտնվի:
