Կալիֆորնիայի հաջորդ տարվա բյուջեով նախատեսվում է ֆինանսավորել Գլենդեյլում հայ-ամերիկյան թանգարանի ստեղծումը

ԱՄՆ Կալիֆորնիա նահանգի 2017-2018 թվականների բյուջեով նախատեսվում է 3 միլիոն դոլար տրամադրել Գլենդեյլում հայ-ամերիկյան թանգարանի կառուցման, ևս 10 միլիոն դոլար՝ դպրոցներում Հայոց ցեղասպանությանը վերաբերող դասընթացներ կազմակերպելու համար: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ վկայակոչելով Los Angeles Times-ը, առաջարկված բյուջեի քվեարկությունը Կալիֆորնիայի նահանգային խորհրդարանում տեղի կունենա հունիսի 15-ին:

Բյուջեի հաստատման դեպքում թանգարանին ուղղված ընդհանուր ֆինանսավորումը կհասնի 4 միլիոն դոլարի, քանի որ դեռևս անցած տարի այդ ծրագրին Կալիֆորնիայի նահանգապես Ջերի Բրաունի որոշմամբ տրամադրվել էր 1 միլիոն դոլար:

Կալիֆորնիայի Սենատի բյուջետային հարցերի ենթահանձնաժողովում այս տարվա մայիսին ծրագիրը ներկայացվել էին սենատոր Էնթոնի Պորտանտինոն և ստեղծվելիք թանգարանի խորհրդի անդամ Զավեն Կազազյանը:

«Շատ ուրախ եմ, որ կարողացա որպես բյուջետային կոմիտեի անդամ այս երկու կարևոր առաջարկությունները ներկայացնել այս տարի»,- իր հայտարարության մեջ նշել է Կալիֆորնիայի սենատորը՝ ընդգծելով, որ երկու առաջարկություններն էլ կարևոր են մարդու իրավունքների տեսակետից: Զավեն Կազազյանն էլ բարձր է գնահատել համայնքից և պաշտոնյաներից ստացվող աջակցությունը թանգարանի ստեղծման գործում: Նա նաև շեշտել է, որ թանգարանի ստեղծումը կարևոր է ոչ միայն Գլենդեյլի, այլև ողջ Կալիֆորնիայի համար:

Նահանգային Սենատի կողմից հաստատվելու դեպքում բյուջեն ուղարկվելու է նահանգապետի Ջերի Բրաունին վերջնական հաստատման համար:
