Ռուբեն վարդապետ Զարգարյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրում է.
Հիսուսն այս պատվերները իր տասներկու աշակերտներին տալուց հետո մեկնեց այնտեղից՝ քարոզելու և ուսուցանելու շրջակա քաղաքներում։ Երբ Հովհաննեսը բանտում լսեց Քրիստոսի կատարած գործերի մասին, իր աշակերտներից ոմանց ուղարկեց Հիսուսի մոտ՝ հարցնելու նրան.
- Դո՞ւ ես նա, որ գալու էր, թե՞ մեկ ուրիշին սպասենք։
Հիսուսը պատասխանեց.
- Գնացե՛ք և Հովհաննեսին պատմեցե՛ք, ինչ որ լսում եք ու տեսնում. ահա կույրերը տեսնում են, կաղերը՝ քայլում, բորոտները՝ մաքրվում, խուլերը՝ լսում, մեռելները՝ հարություն առնում, և Ավետարանը քարոզվում է աղքատներին։ Երանի՜ նրան, ով իմ պատճառով իր հավատը չի կորցնում։
Երբ Հովհաննեսի աշակերտները մեկնեցին, Հիսուսն սկսեց Հովհաննեսի մասին խոսել ժողովրդին՝ ասելով.
- Ի՞նչ տեսնելու գնացիք անապատ. հողմից շարժվող եղե՞գ։ Հապա ի՞նչ տեսնելու գնացիք. փառավոր զգեստներ հագած մա՞րդ։ Բայց նրանք, որ փառավոր զգեստներ են հագնում, թագավորական պալատներում են։ Հապա ի՞նչ տեսնելու գնացիք. մի մարգարե՞։ Այո՛, վստահ եղեք, առավե՛լ մեկին, քան մի մարգարեի, որովհետև Հովհաննեսի մասին է, որ Տերն ասում է մարգարեության մեջ. «Ահա քո առջևից ուղարկում եմ իմ պատգամաբերին, որ ճանապարհ պատրաստի քեզ համար»։
Վստա՛հ եղեք, որ մարդկանց մեջ Հովհաննես Մկրտչից մեծը չի ծնվել. սակայն երկնքի արքայության մեջ ամենից փոքրը Հովհաննեսից ավելի մեծ է։ Հովհաննես Մկրտչի քարոզչության օրերից մինչև այսօր մարդիկ երկնքի արքայությունը ձեռք բերելու համար ուժ են գործադրում, և ուժեղները ձեռք են բերում այն։ Մովսեսի Օրենքը և բոլոր մարգարեները երկնքի արքայության մասին մարգարեացան մինչև Հովհաննեսի ժամանակը։ Եվ եթե ուզում եք ընդունել, Հովհաննե՛սն է Եղիան, որ գալու էր։ Ով լսելու ականջ ունի, թող լսի։
