Լեւոն Արոնյանը նվաճեց Նորվեգիայի Ստավանգեր քաղաքում ավարտված Norway Chess սուպերմրցաշարի հաղթողի կոչումը։

Վերջին տուրում Լեւոն Արոնյանը սեւերով մրցեց ամերիկացի Ուեսլի Սոի հետ եւ բավարարվեց ոչ ոքի արդյունքով՝ վաստակելով 6 միավոր։ Առաջին տեղի համար հայ գրոսմայստերի միակ մրցակից, ամերիկացի Հիկարու Նակամուրան վերջին տուրում պարտվեց ամերիկացի Ֆաբիանո Կարուանային եւ մնաց երկրորդ տեղում՝ 5 միավոր։ Արոնյանը միանձնյա գրավեց առաջին տեղը։

Այս մրցաշարում Լեւոն Արոնյանը հաղթանակներ տարավ աշխարհի չեմպիոն, նորվեգացի Մագնուս Կարլսեն, աշխարհի նախկին չեմպիոն, ռուսաստանցի Վլադիմիր Կրամնիկի, աշխարհի չեմպիոնի նախկին հավակնորդ, ռուսաստանցի Սերգեյ Կարյակինի նկատմամբ, չկրեց ոչ մի պարտություն։

Նախորդ տարի Norway Chess-ում հաղթել էր աշխարհի չեմպիոն Մագնուս Կարլսենը, իսկ Լեւոն Արոնյանը գրավել էր երկրորդ տեղը:
