 Սահմանում իրավիճակը լարելով՝ Ադրբեջանը միշտ չէ, որ փորձում է զուտ  ռազմական վնաս պատճառել հայկական կողմին, այլ նաև խոցել մի շարք թիրախներ: Սահմանի լարվածությունը կապված է նաև Ադրբեջանի ֆինանսական ճգնաժամի, քաղաքական հավասարակշռությունը պահելու և այլ խնդիրների հետ: «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ այս մասին հունիսի 20-ին կայացած ասուլիսում ասաց քաղաքագետ  Հրանտ Մելիք-Շահնազարյանը:

«Վերջին շրջանի սահմանային լարվածությունն ունի մեկ հիմնական պատճառ՝ Ադրբեջանի թշնամական քաղաքականությունը Հայաստանի հանդեպ: Ադրբեջանը նման հարձակումներով փորձում է լուծել մի շարք խնդիրներ, խոցել քաղաքական, տնտեսական, սոցիալական, հասարակական տրամադրությունների վրա ազդելու հստակ որոշված թիրախներ»,-ասաց քաղաքագետն ու նշեց, որ  պետք է հասկանալ այդ թիրախները և փորձել արգելքներ դնել դրանք խոցելու քաղաքականության առաջ:

Նրա խոսքով՝ սահմանի լարվածությունը կապված է նաև Ադրբեջանի տնտեսական իրավիճակի, ֆինանսական ճգնաժամի, պարենային անվտանգության խնդիրների, ներքաղաքական զարգացումների, քաղաքական հավասարակշռությունն ու Ալիևի հեղինակությունը պահելու, ինչպես նաև արտաքին ճնշման մեխանիզմների բացակայության հետ: 

«Մյուս կողմից՝ Ադրբեջանը հետևողականորեն իրականացնում է Հայաստանը շրջափակելու քաղաքականություն՝ տնտեսական, հաղորդակցական առումներով: Կառուցում է երկաթգծեր, գազամուղ, փորձում է Իրանի պոտենցիալն օգտագործել Ադրբեջանով բեռնափոխադրումներ իրականացնելու համար՝ նպատակ ունենալով Հայաստանը դուրս թողնել տարածաշրջանային բոլոր հաղորդակցական ծրագրերից »,-ասաց Հրանտ Մելիք-Շահնազարյանն ու նշեց, որ, այնուամենայնիվ, Ադրբեջանը լայնածավալ պատերազմ սկսելու ռեսուրս չունի, ինչն ապացուցվել է մի քանի գործողություններում:
