Семье армянина удалось выжить при пожаре в Лондоне

Англичанин армянского происхождения, преподаватель криминологии в Университетском центре Кройдон Месроп Касемджян вместе со своей семьей чудом спасся при пожаре, происшедшем в ночь на 14 июня в высотном здании Grenfell Tower в Лондоне.
В момент начала пожара Касемджян вместе со своей подругой смотрел телевизор. Заметив огонь, молодые люди разбудили спящую в этот момент 68-летнюю тетю преподавателя. Им удалось спастись из горящего здания через окно, несмотря на то, что квартира находилась на 17-м этаже, однако Касемджян потерял все свое имущество, пишет Croydon Advertiser.
Теперь студенты Университетского цебтра начали сбор средств в помощь Касемджяну. Они хотят собрать £1500, чтобы их любимый преподаватель смог восстановить свое большое собрание книг и ноутбук.
В здании Grenfell Towel проживали от 400 до 600 человек. Тушение огня продолжалось более двух суток. Информация об увеличении числа жертв пожара поступала с 14 июня ежедневно. Сейчас количество жертв достигло 79 человек.
С 19 июня пострадавшим от пожара начнут выплачивать по 5500 фунтов стерлингов (около 6276 евро) из государственного фонда на случай чрезвычайных ситуаций.
