Բուքերյան մրցանակի դափնեկիր է դարձել ջամայկացի Մառլոն Ջեյմսը

2015 թվականի Բուքերյան մրցանակի դափնեկիր է դարձել ջամայկացի Մառլոն Ջեյմսը իր «Յոթ սպանությունների կարճ պատմությունը» գրքի համար: Այս որոշումը Լոնդոնում ընդունել է այդ հեղինակավոր մրցանակի ժյուրին, որը շնորհվում է անգլերենով գրված ստեղծագործության համար:
«Ես այնքան վստահ էի, որ չեմ շահելու, որ նույնիսկ իրադարձությանը համապատասխանող ճառ չեմ նախապատրաստել»,- կատակել է Ջեյմսը՝ բեմ դուրս գալով իր անվան հայտարարումից անմիջապես հետո: Այնուհետեւ 44-ամյա գրողը հավաքվածներին պատմել է, թե իր համար հատկապես ինչ կարեւորություն ունի Բուքերյան մրցանակը, եւ շնորհակալություն է հայտնել ժյուրիին:
Ջեյմսը Ջամայկայի առաջին ներկայացուցիչն է դարձել Բուքերյան մրցանակի երկար ցուցակում, որը հրապարակվել էր հուլիսի վերջին: Բացի «Յոթ սպանությունների կարճ պատմությունից», կարճ ցուցակում տեղ էին գտել բրիտանացիներ Թոմ Մաքարթնիի «Ատլասե կղզին» եւ Սանջիվ Սահոտիի «Փախուստների տարին» գործերը, ԱՄՆ-ի ներկայացուցիչներ Էն Թայլերի «Երկնագույն թելերի կոճը» եւ Հանյա Յանագիհարայի «Փոքր կյանքը», ինչպես նաեւ Նիգերիայից դեբյուտանտ Շիգոզի Օբիոմայի «Ձկնորսները»:
Դափնեկրի անունը, որն այժմ կազմակերպիչներից կստանա 50 հազար ֆունտ (77 հազար դոլար) դրամական մրցանակը, հայտարարվել է Լոնդոնի Գիլդհոլ ռատուշայում անցկացված հանդիսավոր ընդունելության ժամանակ: Մի քանի հարյուր պատվավոր հյուրերի շարքում, որոնց թվում եղել են հայտնի գրողներ, քննադատներ եւ գրականագետներ, արարողությանը նաեւ ներկա է եղել արքայազն Չառլզի կինը՝ Կոռնուելի դքսուհի Կամիլան:
Բուքերյան մրցանակն առաջին անգամ հանձնվել է 1969 թվականին: Տարբեր տարիների դրա դափնեկիրներ են դարձել Սալման Ռուշդին, Բեն Օքրին, Քինգսլի Էմիսը, Ռոդի Դոյլը, Այրիս Մերդոկը: Այն երկու անգամ ստացել են Ջոն Քութզեեն, Փիթեր Քերին եւ Հիլարի Մանթելը: Պարգեւն ստացածներից չորսը՝ Ուիլյամ Գոլդինգը, Նադին Գորդիմերը, Վիդիադհար Նայպոլը եւ Ջոն Քութզեեն, ավելի ուշ դարձել են գրականության բնագավառում Նոբելյան մրցանակի դափնեկիրներ, հաղորդել է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
