Միացյալ Նահանգների և Չինաստանի իշխանությունները պայմանավորվել են համատեղել ջանքերը Կորեական թերակղզին ապամիջուկայնացնելու հարցում, հայտնում է The Daily Mail-ը՝ չինական պետական լրատվամիջոցներին հղումով:
Աղբյուրը մանրամասնում է, որ նախքան պայմանավորվածության ձեռքբերումը կողմերը բարձրաստիճան հանդիպում են ունեցել Վաշինգտոնում, ինչից հետո համատեղ փաստաթուղթ է ստորագրվել:
Ավելի վաղ ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Ռեքս Թիլերսոնը պատմել է, որ Վաշինգտոնը ճնշում է գործադրել Պեկինի վրա, որպեսզի վերջինն օգտագործի իր տնտեսական ու քաղաքական լծակները Փհենյանի վրա ազդելու համար:
Ինչպես ավելի վաղ հայտնել էր Tert.am-ը, Հյուսիսային Կորեայի ղեկավար Կիմ Չեն Ընը սպառնացել է գերհզոր կանխարգելիչ հարված հասցնել Միացյալ Նահանգներին՝ այդ երկրի կառավարությանը նախազգուշացնելով «գործ չունենալ իրենց հետ»:
Այնուհետև պետական լրատվամիջոցները հայտարարել են, որ Հյուսիսային Կորեան կարող է հաշված վայրկյանների ընթացքում երկրի երեսից ջնջել ԱՄՆ-ն ու իր թշնամուն մոխրի վերածել:
Միացյալ ազգերի կազմակերպությունում Հյուսիսային Կորեայի ներկայացուցիչ Կիմ Ին Ռյոնն ԱՄՆ-ին մեղադրել է Կորեական թերակղզում լարված իրավիճակ ստեղծելու համար՝ նախազգուշացնելով, որ ցանկացած պահի կարող է ջերմամիջուկային պատերազմ սկսվել:
Կիմ Ին Ռյոնի նախազգուշացմանը նախորդել էր ԱՄՆ փոխնախագահ Մայք Փենսի հայտարարությունն առ այն, որ դաշնակից Ճապոնիայի և Հարավային Կորեայի անվտանգությունն ապահովելու համար Վաշինգտոնը պատրաստ է ամեն ինչի՝ չբացառելով կանխարգելիչ հարված հասցնելու հավանականությունը: Փենսը նաև նշել էր, որ ԱՄՆ-ն ցանկանում է, որ Հյուսիսային Կորեան սառեցնի միջուկային ծրագրի զարգացումը:
