Երևանում հոկտեմբերի 12-ին կայացել է «Ազատությունների մեծ խարտիա – 800 (եղելույթ, մեկնություն, իմաստավորում)» խորագրով միջազգային գիտաժողովը, որը կազմակերպվել էր «Համ աշխարհային պատմության հայկական ասոցիացիա» հասարակական կազմակերպության և ԵՊՀ համաշխարհային պատմության ամբիոնի կողմից՝ ՀՀ-ում Մեծ Բրիտանիայի դեսպանատան աջակցությամբ:

Միջոցառմանը բացման խոսքով հանդես են եկել ՀՀ ԳԱԱ թղթակից անդամ, ԵՊՀ ռեկտոր Արամ Սիմոնյանը, ՀՀ-ում Միացյալ Թագավորության արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Ջուդիթ Ֆարնուորթը, ԵՊՀ Պատմության ֆակուլտետի դեկան պ.գ.դ., պրոֆեսոր Էդիկ Մինասյանը և ԵՊՀ համաշխարհային պատմության ամբիոնի վարիչ, պ.գ.դ., պրոֆեսոր, ՀՊՀԱ նախագահ Ալբերտ Ստեփանյանը:

Գիտաժողովին իրենց մասնակցությունն են բերել պատմագիտության, իրավագիտության և քաղաքագիտության ներկայացուցիչ՝ հայաստանյան մի շարք հետազոտողներ, արտերկրից հրավիրված ականավոր գիտնականներ, երիտասարդ հետազոտողներ: Գիտաժողովի մասնակիցներն իրենց զեկուցումներում դիտարկել են Ազատությունների մեծ խարտիան, նրա զարգացումները, մեկնաբանությունները և ազդեցությունները պատմագիտական, իրավագիտական, քաղաքագիտական, տեսական-իմաստասիրական լայն համատեքստում՝ միջնադարից մինչև արդիականութ յուն: Մասնավորապես, միջգիտակարգային (միջդիսցիպլինար) մոտեցման կիրառմամբ մասնակիցների կողմից քննության են առնվել պատմական ժամանակի և տարածության տարբեր չափումներում թեմայի հետ առնչվող այնպիսի հիմնախնդիրներ, ինչպիսիք են հասարակական առճակատումը և փոխհամաձայնությունը, հասարակության սահմանադրական վերափոխման և նորացման (իննովացիայի) նախագծերը:

Գիտաժողովին ծավալուն ելույթ է ունեցել Մեծ խարտիայի խոշորագույն մասնագետներից մեկը՝ անգլիացի միջնադարագետ, Իսթ Անգլիայի համալսարանի պրոֆեսոր, Բրիտանական ակադեմիայի անդամ Նիկոլաս Վինսենտը, որը «Ազատությունների մեծ խարտիան իբրև խաղաղության պայմանագիր» խորագրով զեկուցմամբ մանրամասն ներկայացրել է Խարտիայի առաջացման և զարգացման պատմությունը՝ դիտարկելով փաստաթղթի ձևավորման պատմական համատեքստը: Ելույթներով հանդես են եկել Օքսֆորդի համալսարանի Գալուստ Գյուլբենկյանի անվան հայագիտության պրոֆեսոր Թեո Մարտեն վան Լինտը, ՀՀ պետակաÕ ¶ կառավարման ակադեմիայի քաղաքական կառավարման և քաղաքական վերլուծության ամբիոնի վարիչ,  պրոֆեսոր Մարիամ Մարգարյանը, ԵՊՀ համաշխարհային պատմության ամբիոնի դոցենտներ Լիլիթ Մինասյանը (պրոֆեսոր Ալբերտ Ստեփանյանի համահեղինակությամբ), Սմբատ Հովհաննիսյանը, ի.գ.թ., դոցենտ Գաբրիել Բալայանը, ք.գ.թ. Տիգրան Մկրտչյանը, ԵՊՀ համաշխարհային պատմության ամբիոնի ասպիրանտներ  Ջուլիետա Կճանյանը, Տիգրան Եփրեմյանը, Սամսոն Հովհաննիսյանը: 

Գիտաժողովն ավարտվել է արդյունքների ամփոփմամբ և եզրափակիչ քննարկմամբ, որի ընթացքում ընդգծվել է նաև հայկական իրավական պատմության միջնադարյան և նոր ժամանակների տարբեր դրվագներ՝ դրանք համեմատության մեջ դնելով Մեծ Խարտիայի հետ:

Համաշխարհային պատմության հայկական ասոցիացիան նախատեսում է հրատարակել գիտաժողովի ելույթների ժողովածու և մոտ ապագայում ներկայացնել այն հանրությանը:
