«Հայկական ժամանակ» թերթը գրում է.
«Մեր տնային տնտեսուհիների համար սկսվել է ձմռան նախապատրաստական աշխատանքները: Մուրաբաների, ջեմերի ու կոմպոտների հերթական խմբաքանակները կհամալրեն մեր «չուլանները»: Իսկ նշված «արտադրանքների» կարեւորագույն բաղադրիչը շաքարավազն է, որի մեկ կգ-ի գինը Հայաստանում 410 դրամ է:
Օգտվելով կապի եւ կոմունիկացիաների արդի ձեռքբերումներից, փորձեցինք պարզել, թ ինչ արժե մեկ կիլոգրամ շաքարավազը, ասենք, թանկուկրակ Եվրոպայում: Պարզվում է, օրինակ, գերմանիայում շաքարավազը շարքային սուպերմարկետում երեկվա դրությամբ արժեր 69 եվրոցենտ: Եթե հաշվի առնենք եվրոյի փոխարժեքը, ապա կստացվի, որ Գերմանիայում շաքարավազի գինը մոտ 350 դրամ է:
Հարեւան Վրաստանում երեկ մեկ կիլոգրամ շաքարը արժեր 1 լարի 55 թեթրի: Հայկական դրամով հաշված՝ մեր հարեւան երկրում շաքարն արժե 310 դրամ:
Ակնհայտ է, որ Հայաստանում շաքարի այսպիսի բարձր գինը պայմանավորված է միայն ու բացառապես այդ շուկայի մոնոպոլիստի՝ ԱԺ պատգամավոր Սամվել Ալեքսանյանի «ախորժակով»:
Մոնոպոլ դիրքի այսպիսի խայտառակ չարաշահումը, սակայն, ոչ մի կերպ չի գրավում առավոտից երեկո մրցակցության մասին նեյնիմներ ու մուղամներ ձոնող իշխանության ուշադրությունը»:
