Հունիսի 15-ին Վրաստանում Սգո օր է հայտարարված նախօրյակին ժամանակակից Թբիլիսիի պատմության ընթացքում ամենաուժեղ ջրհեղեղից զոհվածների հիշատակին: Հանրապետության ՆԳ նախարարության նախնական տվյալներով՝ տարերային աղետի հետևանքով զոհվել է 12 մարդ, անհետ կորել է 24 բնակիչ: Զոհվածների թվում է Թբիլիսիի կենդանաբանական այգու երեք աշխատակից, տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը:

Փրկարար ծառայությունների, ՆԳ նախարարության, Թբիլիսիի քաղաքապետարանի աշխատակիցները և Վրաստանի զինված ուժերի զինծառայողները մեկ օրվա ընթացքում փրկել են հարյուրից ավելի մարդկանց, նրանցից 15-ին տեղափոխել են հիվանդանոցներ: Տարերքի հետևանքների վերացման աշխատանքները ղեկավարում է կառավարության որոշմամբ ստեղծված արտակարգ շտաբը: Մաքրման և վերականգնողական աշխատանքներին քաղաքային ծառայությունների աշխատողների հետ միասին մասնակցում են տեղի հարյուրավոր բնակիչներ:

Մի քանի ժամ շարունակված տեղատարափի և Վերե գետի վարարման հետևանքով Թբիլիսիում հեղեղվել են հարյուրից ավելի սեփական տների բակերն ու առաջին հարկերը, մի շարք ստորգետնյա անցումներ ու հրապարակներ, ավտոճանապարհների տեղամասեր, տասնյակ ընտանիքներ մնացել են առանց կացարանի: Քաղաքապետարանի որոշմամբ՝ այդ ընտանիքներին ժամանակավորապես տեղավորել են հյուրանոցներում և քաղաքապետարանի կողմից վարձակալված տներում ու բնակարաններում:

Ափերից դուրս եկած Վերե գետը հեղեղել է քաղաքի կենդանաբանական այգու տարածքը. կենդանիների մի մասը սատկել է, մյուս մասը փախել է վանդակներից, դրանց թվում կան վագրեր ու արջեր: Փախած կենդանիների մի մասին վնասազերծել են փողոցներում և վերադարձրել կենդանաբանական այգի, մյուսներին հարկ է եղել գնդակահարել, որովհետև դրանք սպառնալիք էին ներկայացնում մարդկանց կյանքի համար:

Վրաստանի վարչապետ Իրակլի Ղարիբաշվիլին հայտնել է, որ «նախնական գնահատումների համաձայն՝ տարերքի պատճառած վնասը կազմել է շուրջ 50 մլն վրացական լարի (23 մլն դոլար)»: Ղարիբաշվիլին նշել է, որ Հայաստանի, Լատվիայի, Ադրբեջանի, Թուրքիայի, Ուկրաինայի և մի շարք այլ երկրների վարչապետները Վրաստանին օգնություն են առաջարկել տարերային աղետի հետևանքների վերացման գործում: Կառավարության ղեկավարն այն կարծիքին է, որ «տվյալ փուլում արտասահմանից նման օգնության անհրաժեշտություն չկա»: Միևնույն ժամանակ Ղարիբաշվիլին «չի բացառել, որ տարերքի հետևանքները վերացնելու համար Վրաստանին հարկավոր կլինի արտասահմանյան դոնորների ֆինանսական օգնությունը»:

Իր հերթին, ինչպես նշում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը, ՌԴ արտակարգ իրավիճակների նախարար Վլադիմիր Պուչկովը Վրաստանին օգնություն է առաջարկել ջրհեղեղի հետևանքները վերացնելու գործում՝ նշելով, որ հարյուրից ավելի փրկարարներ՝ հատուկ սարքավորումներով ու հանդերձանքով, պատրաստ են մեկնել Վրաստան:

Վրաստանի վարչապետի խոսքով՝ առայժմ վաղ է եզրակացություններ անել ջրհեղեղի պատճառների մասին: Նա նաև հավելել է, որ Թբիլիսիի ժամանակակից պատմության մեջ «դեռևս չէր եղել նման ուժգին ջրհեղեղ»:
