Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքարանում հուլիսի 4-ին գումարված հատուկ ժողովի արդյունքում կազմվել է Նախաձեռնող խումբը, որը պետք է զբաղվի պատրիարքական ընտրությունների կազմակերպման աշխատանքներով: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին հայտնում է Ստամբուլի հայկական «Ակոս» պարբերականը:

Նախաձեռնող խումբն ունենալու է 17 անդամ: Այն ընտրություններից առաջ Ստամբուլի տարբեր թաղամասերում նախապատրաստելու է ընտրողների ցուցակները և հստակեցնելու է պատվիրակների թվաքանակը:

Նախաձեռնող խմբի անդամ են դարձել Սարվեն Սերթշիմշեքը, Հոսրոֆ Քյոլեդավիթօղլուն, Վարուժան Բուլգանը, Թամար Քարասուն, Հաչիկ Ջանելը, Սարգիս Չավուշյանը, Սեդրակ Դավութհանը, Նազարեթ Օզսահակյանը, Սեպուհ Ասլանգիլը, Անդրանիկ Քյոսեդաղը, Սևան Չավուշյանը, Սարգիս Քյուլեգեչը, Մկրտիչ Սերթշիմշեքը, Գարբիս Դուրասլանը, Եդեսիա Թըրթըրը, Արման Աթընըզը և Դավիթ Դամլան:

Այսպիսով, Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքի ընտրության գործընթացը պաշտոնապես մեկնարկած է համարվում:

Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքարանի եկեղեցական ընդհանուր ժողովը հունիսի 28-ին որոշում է կայացրել դադարեցնել Արամ արքեպիսկոպոս Աթեշյանի լիազորությունները որպես պատրիարքական փոխանորդ: Որոշումը կայացվել է 22 կողմ և երկու դեմ ձայներով:

Որոշման ընդունումից հետո Գարեգին արքեպիսկոպոս Բեքչյանն արդեն պաշտոնապես ստանձնել է տեղապահի իր պաշտոնը, որում ընտրվել էր մայիսի 24-ին:
