Երբ Քիմ Քարդաշյանին Փարիզում կողոպտեցին, նա խոստացավ սոցցանցերում այդքան հաճախ չհրապարակել իր անձնական կյանքի մանրամասները, որպեսզի չհայտնվի հանցագործների թիրախում։
Սոցիալական ցանցերի տարածմանը զուգահեռ՝ ավելի է բարդացել պահպանել սեփական անձի կամ ընտանեկան կյանքի գաղտնիությունը. մատի մեկ հպումով կարելի է իմանալ, թե այս կամ այն մարդն այս պահին որտեղ է գտնվում եւ անգամ՝ ինչ ուտում։ Թերեւս սա պատճառներից մեկն է, որ հանցագործները կարողանում են արագ կողմնորոշվել՝ ում եւ երբ կողոպտել։ Հաճախ նրանց թիրախում հայտնվում են շոու-բիզնեսի ներկայացուցիչները։

Չարագործները կոտրել են Միքայել Ոսկանյանի մեքենայի ապակին՝ այն կողոպտելու նպատակով, սակայն, բարեբախտաբար, ոչինչ չեն կարողացել գողանալ։

Հանցագործները կոտրել էին նաեւ հաղորդավար Արման Մարգարյանի մեքենայի ապակին ու տարել նրա թակարժեք ակնոցը եւ վերարկուն։

Դերասանը հանցագործների թիրախում էր հայտնվել 2015 թվականին։ Գողերը մտել էին Ալեքսանյանի՝ Նոր Նորքի 9-րդ զանգվածում գտնվող բնակարան եւ տարել ոսկեղեն, հեռուստացույց, ինչպես նաեւ դերասանի մեդալները՝ 8-10 հազար դոլարի վնաս հասցնելով։

Նրան կողոպտել էին որդու՝ Վիկտորի 1-ամյակի խնջույքի ժամանակ։ Չարագործը DJ-ի պայուսակից 100 հազար դրամ էր գողացել։

Անցյալ տարվա հոկտեմբերին Փարիզում ոստիկանի համազգեստով եւ դիմակներով հանցագործները ներխուժել էին Քիմի հյուրանոցի համար եւ 9 մլն եվրո արժողոթյամբ թանկարժեք զարդեր տարել:
Կողոպուտի կազմակերպիչը 60-ամյա կրկնահանցագործ Օմար Աիտ Հեդաշն է եղել: Նա հայտնի է «Ծեր Օմար» մականունով: Հանցագործը օգնել են 72-ամյա Պիեռ Բուիաները, 63-ամյա Յունիս Աբբասը, 61-ամյա Դիդյե «Երկնագույն աչքեր» Դյուբրեկը եւ 54-ամյա Ֆրանսուա Դելապորտը:

Իսկ, ահա, Քիմի քույրը՝ Քլոեն, կողոպտվել է մտերիմ ընկերուհու կողմից։ Աղջիկն օգտվել է Քլոեի բանկային քարտից, հայտնի ապրանքանիշերի խանութներից գնումներ է կատարել, բայց դրանք չեն հասել Քլոեի զգեստապահարան:
