Վայոց ձորի մարզով հոսող 47 կմ երկարություն ունեցող Եղեգիս գետի և իր վտակների վրա 19 ՀԷԿ է գործում, ինչը հանգեցնելու է գետի վերջնական չորացմանը: Այս մասին Tert.am-ի հետ զրույցում ասաց բնապահպան Լևոն Գալստյանը՝ հավելելով, թե կարելի է ասել, որ Եղեգիս գետն այլևս գոյություն չունի, գետի 55-60 տոկոսը հոսում է խողովակների միջով: Բնապահպանը շեշտեց՝ գետի չորացումն անհետևանք չի լինի շրջակա միջավայրի վրա:

«Մոռացեք, Եղեգիս գետն այլևս չկա: Եղեգիս գետի չորացումը բերում է այն հետևանքին, որ այդ հովիտը գնում է դեպի չորացման, այսինքն՝ միկրոկլիմայական պայմանները գնում են դեպի չորացում: Եթե մենք նաև հաշվի առնենք, որ ընդհանուր գլոբալ տաքացում է գնում, սրան էլ գումարվում է գետի չորացումը, ապա այդ տարածքում առկա բուսատեսակները, կենդանիները, որոնք ջրից օգտվում էին, կամաց-կամաց վերանալու են»,- ասաց նա:

Գալստյանն անգամ ավելորդ է համարում Եղեգիս գետի ձկնատեսակների մասին խոսելը, քանի որ գտնում է, որ դրանց հիմնական հատվածն արդեն իսկ վերացել է: Նա համոզված է, որ ձուկը չի կարող ապրել, բազմանալ այդ տարածքում: Վերջինս նաև կարծում է, որ Եղեգիս գետի չորացման պատճառով խնդիրներ կառաջանան ոռոգման ջրերի հետ կապված:

«Որոշում կայացնող մեր մարմինները սա չեն հասկանում, իրենց թվում է, որ եթե ջուրը հոսում է, ապա դրա հետ կարող են ամեն ինչ անել: Մենք դիմել ենք բոլոր հնարավոր կառույցներին, դիմել եք ոչ թե 1-2 անգամ, այլ՝ տասնյակ անգամ, դիմել ենք ոչ միայն Եղեգիսի, այլև բազմաթիվ այլ գետերի հարցով: Կառավարությանը 3 անգամ նույն առաջարկներով նամակ ենք գրել, որից հետո ստիպված քննարկման առարկա դարձրին՝ ինչ-որ հանձնաժողով ստեղծեցին և հայտարարեցին, թե լուծումներ կգտնեն: 3 տարի է՝ լուծումների վրա աշխատում են, սակայն դեռևս փաստացի որևէ բան չկա, որ ոլորտը կկարգավորվի»,- ընդգծեց Գալստյանը:

Բնապահպանը ցավով խոստովանեց, որ համաշխարհային մասշտաբով վերականգնվող էլէներգիայի տեսակ համարվող ոլորտը ՀՀ-ում դարձել է էկոլոգիական չարիք: Նա պնդեց ՝ հայաստանյան գետերը սխալ են շահագործվում, ինչի արդյունքում գետեր կան՝ 6-7 ամիս ջրազրկվում են:

«Եթե ՀԷԿ-երի աշխատանքն օրենսդրորեն այնպես կարգավորես, որ էկոլոգիական անվտանգության վրա չազդի, այդ դեպքում գետերը շատ արագ կրկին կվերականգնեն իրենց ձկնային պաշարները: Սրա համար պետք է քաղաքական կամք, որն այս պահին չկա: Անձամբ իմ կարծիքն այն է, որ փոքր ու միջին գետերի վրա, որոնց վրա ՀԷԿ-եր կան, բացի 4 ամսից, երբ այդ գետերում ջուր կա, տարվա մնացած ընթացքում չպետք ՀԷԿ-երը գործեն: Բայցի այդ չորս ամսից՝մարտ, ապրիլ, մայիս, հունիս, այդ գետում ջուր չի լինում, իսկ մնացած ժամանակ ՀԷԿ-ն աշխատելով քամում է գետի վերջնական ջուրը»,-եզրափակեց Լևոն Գալստյանը:
