Ակվիլայի համալսարանից իտալացի գիտնականները խորհուրդ են տալիս ամեն օր դառը շոկոլադ ուտել:

Հեղինակները վերլուծել են հասանելի բոլոր գիտական հրապարակումները` կապված այն էֆեկտի հետ, որը գլխուղեղի աշխատանքի վրա գործում են ֆլավոնոլները (կենսաբանորեն ակտիվ նյութեր), որոնք պարունակվում են կակաոյի հատիկներում:

Գիտնականները որոշել են տեսնել, թե ուղեղում ինչ է կատարվում դառը շոկոլադի մեկանգամյա օգտագործումից հետո, եւ ինչպես է նրա ֆունկցիայի վրա ազդում այս մթերքի երկարատեւ օգտագործումը:

Հետազոտողները հանգել են այն եզրակացության, որ շոկոլադը ուղեղի աշխատանքի վրա լավ է ազդում նույնիսկ մեկանգամյա օգտագործումից հետո. օգնում է աշխատանքային հիշողությանը եւ տեսողական տեղեկությունները մշակելու ունակությանը: Դրանից բացի, մարդկանց, որոնք ինչ-ինչ պատճառներով ամբողջ գիշեր չեն քնել, օգտակար է առավոտյան շոկոլադ ուտել, դա կօգնի մտավոր ունակությունները նորմայի մեջ պահպանելուն: Այս դեպքում շոկոլադն առանձնապես դրական է ազդում գիշերային քնից զրկված կանանց վրա:

Հատկապես տարեց մարդկանց է խորհուրդ տրվում դառը շոկոլադի երկարատեւ օգտագործումը, որոնց մոտ ինտելեկտի տարիքային թուլացում է սկսվել, պարզաբանել են գիտնականները: Կակաոյի հատիկների ֆլավոնոլներն օգնում են պահպանել ուշադրության կենտրոնացման ունակությունը, աշխատանքային հիշողության ծավալը, ռեակցիայի արագությունը եւ կենդանի խոսքը: Հետազոտողները կարծում են, որ նման բարենպաստ էֆեկտը կարելի է պայմանավորել այն հանգամանքով, որ կակաոյի ֆլավոնոլներն օգտակար են արյունատար անոթների համար եւ օգնում են արյան շրջանառությունն ուժեղացնել հիպոկամպի ատամնաձեւ գալարներում` ուղեղի կառույց, որը կապված է հիշողության հետ: Հատկապես այս հատվածն է ենթակա տարիքային փոփոխությունների, որը ծերացման պրոցեսում հիշողության թուլացում է առաջացնում:

Չնայած շոկոլադի օգտագործումը բացասական կողմեր էլ ունի, առաջին հերթին բարձր կալորիականությունը, գիտնականներն, այնուամենայնիվ, խորհուրդ են տալիս այս քաղցրեղենը ներառել ամենօրյա սննդակարգի մեջ, հատկապես տարեց մարդկանց: Ըստ որում` խոսքը հատկապես դառը կամ սեւ շոկոլադի մասին է, որը կակաոյի մեծ խտություն է պարունակում եւ համեմատաբար քիչ կաթ ու շաքար:
