Մարդու իրավունքների սիրիական կենտրոնը Reuters գործակալությանը հայտնել է, որ «հաստատված տեղեկություն» ունի, որ «Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական խմբավորման առաջնորդ Աբու Բաքր ալ-Բաղդադին սպանվել է:


«Մենք հաստատված տեղեկություն ունենք Դեր Զորի արևելյան շրջաններում «Իսլամական պետության» առաջնորդներից»,- ասել է մոնիթորինգային խմբի ղեկավար Ռամի Աբդուլրահմանը:


Աբդուլրահմանը նշել է, որ Սիրիայի արևելյան Դեր Զոր քաղաքում խմբի աղբյուրներին «Իսլամական պետություն» խմբավորումից աղբյուրները հայտնել են, որ Բաղդադին զոհվել է, բայց չեն նշել՝ երբ:


Գործակալությունը հայտնում է, որ Պենտագոնն, իր հերթին, նշել է, որ տեղեկություն չունի Բաղդադիի մահվան մասին:


Ավելի վաղ հաղորդվել է, որ Al Sumaria իրաքյան հեռուստաալիքը, վկայակոչելով Իրաքի Նայնավա շրջանում իր աղբյուրին, հայտնել է, որ «Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական խմբավորման գրոհայինները հաստատել են կազմակերպության ղեկավար Աբու Բաքր ալ-Բաղդադիի մահը:


Հաղորդվել էր, որ ԻՊ-ը հաստատել է իր առաջնորդի մահը կարճ հայտարարությունով, «նոր խալիֆ» հռչակել և կոչ արել իր մարտիկներին «դիմադրել»:


Ավելի վաղ Ռուսաստանի պաշտպանության նախարարությունում հայտնել են, որ ալ-Բաղդադին հնարավոր է՝ զոհվել է մայիսի 28-ին Ռաքքայի արվարձանում Ռուսաստանի օդուժի հարվածի հետևանքով: Հարվածի ժամանակ սպանվել էր մոտ 330 ահաբեկիչ:
