Եվրամիությունը Մեծ Բրիտանիայից պահանջել է ճանաչել Լոնդոնին ներկայացված իր բազամամիլիարդանոց ֆինանսական պահանջները` ԵՄ կազմից երկրի առաջիկա դորս գալու հետ կապված:

Ապագա հարաբերությունների շուրջ բանակցությունները 2 կողմերի միջեւ կարող են սկսվել միայն այն բանից հետո, երբ առաջընթացի հասնեն 3 խոշոր հարցերում` Մեծ Բրիտանիայում ԵՄ քաղաքացիների կարգավիճակի, Հյուսիսային Իռլանդիայի եւ Լոնդոնին ներկայացված ֆինանսական պահանջների, հայտարարել է Brexit-ի հարցով բանակցություններում ԵՄ պատվիրակության ղեկավար Միշել Բարնիեն` Բրյուսելում կայացած մամուլի ասուլիսում, փոխանցում է DW-ն: 

Նրա խոսքով` այս թեմաները անքակտելիորեն կապված են միմյանց: «Այս թեմաներից մեկի կամ երկուսի առաջընթացն անբավարար կլինի, որպեսզի մեզ թույլ տանք անցնել մեր ապագա հարաբերությունների վերաբերյալ բանավեճին»,- զգուշացրել է Բարնիեն` ընդգծելով, որ Մեծ Բրիտանիային ներկայացված ֆինանսական պահանջները «փրկագին» չեն: Խոսքը այն ֆինանսական պարտավորությունների մասին է, որոնք Լոնդոնը ստանձնել է ԵՄ-ին անդամակցելիս, պարզաբանել է ԵՄ պատվիրակության ղեկավարը:

Մինչեւ հիմա Բրյուսելը խոսում է 40-ից մինչեւ 100 մլրդ եվրոյի մասին: Մեծ Բրիտանիայի ԱԳ նախարար Բորիս Ջոնսոնը, սակայն, հուլիսի 11-ին դարձյալ մերժել է նման պահանջները եւ այդ գումարը «ժանտաժ» անվանել: Առաջիկա երկուշաբթի` հուլիսի 17-ին, Բրյուսելի եւ Լոնդոնի միջեւ տեղի կունենա Brexit-ի հարցով բանակցությունների առաջին ռեալ ռաունդը:
