Հայկական զինված ուժերի սպառազինությունը պարբերաբար թարմացվում է։ Այս մասին «Արմենիա» հեռուստաընկերության «Ռ-Էվոլուցիա» հաղորդման եթերում ասել է ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը:

«Մենք լուրջ սպառազինություններ էինք ձեռք բերել ինչպես մինչև ապրիլյան քառօրյան, այնպես էլ՝ դրանից հետո։ Այլ խնդիր է, որ ցանկացած ռազմական գործողություն՝ լինի դա մեկօրյա, մեկ տարվա, հինգ տարվա, դաս է, որը պետք է սերտես ու հետևություններ անես։ Որովհետև հենց ռազմական գործողությունների ժամանակ է դրսևորվում, թե քո հակառակորդն ինչ է օգտագործում և ինչ ձևով է օգտագործում, և փորձես գտնել դրա հակաթույնը»,- խոսելով ապրիլյան պատերազմից հետո բանակի համալրումների մասին, հայտարարել է ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը:

 Անդրադառնալով 80-ականներ զենք ունենալու մասին իր հայտարարությանը, որը տարատեսակ շահարկումների առիթ դարձավ քաղաքագիտական շրջանակների կողմից, ՀՀ նախագահն ասել է. «Իրենց քաղաքագետ կոչողները պետք է շատ լավ հասկանան, թե խոսքը որ լսարանում է հնչում և ինչ նպատակով էր հնչում։ Սա մեկ։ Եվ երկրորդ՝ այո, այն ժամանակ մենք չունեինք որոշ զինատեսակներ, որ Ադրբեջանը հասցրել էր ձեռք բերել։ Իսկ ինչ է՝ գաղտնի՞ք է արդյոք, որ Ադրբեջանը մեզնից հարուստ է, որ Ադրբեջանն ավելի շատ միջոցներ է ծախսում զինատեսակների վրա և այլն։ Գաղտնիք չէ։ Եթե որևէ մեկը կարող է ասել, որ ինքը երկու տարում կամ հինգ տարում կարող է Հայաստանը դարձնել ավելի հարուստ պետություն, քան Ադրբեջանը, այդ մարդուն պետք է հեռու քշել քաղաքականությունից։ Որովհետև դա «շառլատանություն» է, դա սուտ է։ Դրա համար շատ տևական ժամանակ է պետք:  Մենք և այն ժամանակ, և այսօր ունենք բավարար սպառազինություն, որպեսզի կարողանանք մեր զորքի մարտական ունակությունների օգտագործմամբ չեզոքացնել այն վտանգը, որ սպառնում է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղին կամ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությանը»:

Նախագահը նշել է, որ պատերազմում միայն զենքը չի հաղթում։ «Պատերազմի հիմնական գործող անձը զինվորն ու սպան են, զինվորն ու հրամանատարն են։ Եվ այդ զինվորն ու հրամանատարը պետք է ունենան ոչ թե ամենաժամանակակիցը, որովհետև դա անհնար է, որևէ երկրի համար է անհնար, այլ՝ բավարար զինատեսակ և զինամթերք՝ խնդիրը լուծելու համար։ Այսօր մեր զինված ուժերն ունեն բավարար զինատեսակներ և բավարար զինամթերք»,-հավելել է Սերժ Սարգսյանը։
