Հայաստանի բասկետբոլի հավաքականը սկսել է նախապատրաստվել աշխարհի առաջնության ընտրական փուլի հանդիպումներին:

«Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` ընտրական փուլը մեկնարկում է օգոստոսի 2-ին: Հավաքականի գլխավոր մարզիչ Նիկշա Բավցևիչն ուսումնամարզական հավաքին հրավիրել է հետևյալ խաղացողներին` Ամիրան Ամիրխանով («Ուրարտու», Հայաստան), Յանկու Քրիս Օսկիյան («Սակարյա Բասկետ», Թուրքիա), Կարեն Չիվիչյան  («Այդահո Բենգալս» , ԱՄՆ), Բոատրայթ Ռայան («Ցեդևիտա», Խորվաթիա), Ալբերտ  Թադևոսյան (Առանց ակումբ), Հեսս Ալլան («Բազել Ստարվինգս» Շվեցարիա) Արտյոմ Թավակալյան («Դելեվր Սթեյթ», ԱՄՆ), Միքայել Պողոսյան («Ուրարտու», Հայաստան), Արկադի Մկրտիչյան («Այդահո Վանդալս», ԱՄՆ), Չրաբաշ Անդրանիկ («Բատլեր Բուլդոգս», ԱՄՆ), Արարատ  Քոչինյան  («Օրիոն», Ռուսաստան), Ֆիշեր Լուկաս («Գրան Կանարիա», Իսպանիա), Մեթյու Մադոյան («Ջոնսոն Ուելս», ԱՄՆ), Արամ Արսլանյան («Լեյք Ֆորեստ», ԱՄՆ):

Աշխարհի առաջնության ընտրական փուլում Հայաստանի ազգային հավաքականի մրցակիցներն են ՝ Բոսնիա և Հերցեգովինան, Շվեդիան և Սլովակիան:

Ազգային թիմը հանգրվանել է Դավթաշենում գտնվող Օլիմպավանում։ Հուլիսի 24-29-ը հավաքականը Երևանում կանցկացնի ստուգողական հանդիպումներ:

ԱԱ 2019-ի ընտրական փուլում Հայաստանն առաջին հանդիպումը կանցկացնի Սլովակիայի ազգային հավաքականի հետ օգոստոսի 2-ին ԿԱ ՊԵԿ (նախկին Միկա) մարզահամալիրում:
