«Երբ իմացա, որ առաջին մրցանակին եմ արժանացել, անչափ ուրախացա, որ մեր թիմի աշխատանքը իզուր չի անցել: Իմ ներսում արթնացավ հպարտության զգացումը»,-այսօր` հուլիսի 18-ին կայացած ասուլիսի ժամանակ, անդրադառնալով «Славянский базар» մրցույթում իր տարած հաղթանակին, նշեց Հայաստանի ներկայացուցիչ Էրիկ Մկրտչյանը:

11-ամյա երգիչը նաեւ խոստովանեց. «Շատ հուզված էի, քանի որ ինձ ասում էին, որ մասնակիցները շատ ուժեղ են: Հուզմունքս հաղթահարել ինձ օգնեցին Մհերն ու Վրեժը: Դժվարություններ չեմ ունեցել, որովհետեւ նրանք միշտ իմ կողքին են եղել»:

Մրցույթում Հայաստանի պատվիրակության ղեկավար, երգիչ Վրեժ Կիրակոսյանը նշում է. «Մինչ մրցույթը, 6 ամիս շարունակ աշխատել ենք Էրիկի հետ: Նա նաեւ պարի է հաճախել: Ամիսներ շարունակ այս աշխատանքը բերել է նրան, որ այսօր ունենք հաղթած մասնակից: Այդ մրցույթում մենք հաճախակի չենք ունենում հաղթանակներ»:

Էրիկի հաղթանակից պակաս ոգեւորված չէ նաեւ երգիչ Մհերը, որը մրցույթի ողջ ընթացքում եղել է իր սանի կողքին. «Մենք շատ ուրախ ենք, որ մասնակցեցինք այդ մրցույթին եւ վերադարձանք հաղթանակով: Երկար ամիսների աշխատանքի արդյունքում Ավետ Բարսեղյանն ու Էդգար Գյանջումյանը հատուկ Էրիկի համար գրեցին «Հայրենիք» երգը, որով նա ներկայացավ մրցույթին: Ի դեպ, այդ երգի հիման վրա շուտով նկարահանելու ենք տեսահոլովակ»,-նշեց Մհերը` հավելելով, որ Էրիկի հետ իր համագործակցությունը դեռ շարունակվելու է:
