«Հայկական ժամանակ» թերթը գրում է.

«Երեկ փակ աշխատանքային այցով Գյումրի է ժամանել ՀՀ վարչապետ Կարեն Կարապետյանը: Նա տարածքային կառավարման և զարգացման նախարար Դավիթ Լոքյանի, Շիրակի մարզպետի և Գյումրու քաղաքապետի հետ այցելեց «Լենտեքս» կարի արտադրամաս, «Սամարիթեր» հիվանդանոց, ՀԷՑ-ի «Ղարս» մասնաճյուղ, Ռուսթավելի փողոց, որտեղ կապիտալ վերանորոգման աշխատանքներ են իրականացվում:

«Սեպտեմբերին ավարտում ենք փողոցի աշխատանքներն ու դրանից հետո կանցնենք Շիրազի փողոցին: Օգոստոսին գալու ենք նաև Շիրակի մարզ՝ այլ ծրագրեր իրականացնելու»,- ասաց վարչապետը:

Կարապետյանը շրջեց Գյումրու մի քանի փողոցներով, եղավ իր ընտանիքի կողմից ձեռք բերված այն շինությունում, որտեղ ակտիվ շինաշխատանքներ են իրականացվում: Այն ծառայելու է որպես ռեստորանահյուրանոցային համալիր:

Կարապետյանը Գյումրու փողոցներով զբոսնելիս պարբերաբար կրկնում էր, որ Գյումրին հրաշալի քաղաք է, իսկ բնակիչներն աջ ու ձախ վարչապետին իրենց խնդիրներն էին ներկայացնում:

Կարապետյանը, անցնելով Գյումրու ՀՅԴ-ի գրասենյակի կողքով՝ դիմելով ՀՅԴ-ական նախարար Լոքյանին, ասաց. «ՀՅԴ-ի շենքը լավն է, Լոքյան, ինչու՞ չեք տեղափոխվում Գյումրի»:

Կարեն Կարապետյանն այցելեց նաև Գյումրու պետական բժշկական քոլեջ: Armtimes.com-ի հարցին, թե կառույց այցի նպատակը որն էր, պատասխանեց. «Մտադիր ենք բժշկական քոլեջը տեղափոխել ավելի հարմար, ավելի լավ տեղ: Այս շենքը ցանկանում ենք օգտագործել այս փողոցների զարգացման համար»:

Բժշկական քոլեջը գտնվում է Շիրազի փողոցում: Այս փողոցը ևս գտնվում է «Կումայրի» պատմական արգելոցի տարածքում, որը հիմա կառավարության ծրագրով նախատեսվում է դարձել տուրիզմի կենտրոն: Այս կառույցի համար ևս ներդրողներ են փնտրվում»:
