 ՀՀ ԱԺ արտաքին հարաբերությունների մշտական հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Արմեն Աշոտյանը հուլիսի 21-ին ընդունել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում Ամերիկայի Միացյալ Նահանգների արտակարգ եւ լիազոր դեսպան Ռիչարդ Միլսին:

Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ ԱԺ հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից,Արմեն Աշոտյանը, ողջունելով դեսպանին Ազգային ժողովում, բարձր է գնահատել երկկողմ հարաբերությունները, այդ թվում՝ միջխորհրդարանական մակարդակում: Այս համատեքստում Արմեն Աշոտյանը կարեւորել է երկու երկրների խորհրդարանների համապատասխան հանձնաժողովների միջեւ արդյունավետ գործակցությունը եւ պատգամավորական բարեկամական խմբերի միջեւ շփումների ակտիվացումը:!

Իր հերթին դեսպան Միլսը շնորհավորել է Արմեն Աշոտյանին հանձնաժողովի նախագահի պաշտոնում ընտրվելու կապակցությամբ եւ կարեւորել միջխորհրդարանական համագործակցության խորացումը:

«Արտաքին հարաբերությունների մշտական հանձնաժողովը խորհրդարանական դիվանագիտության առանցքային կառույցներից մեկն է: Մենք ակնկալում ենք շարունակել հանձնաժողովի հետ արդեն իսկ ձեւավորված գործընկերությունը՝ այժմ արդեն Ձեր հմուտ ղեկավարության ներքո ու համալրված նոր անդամներով, եւ արձանագրել նորանոր ձեռքբերումներ երկկողմ հարաբերությունների ամրապնդման ճանապարհին», - ասել է Ռիչարդ Միլսը:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում կողմերն անդրադարձել են նաեւ ՀՀ ԱԺ արտաքին հարաբերությունների մշտական հանձնաժողովի նախաձեռնությամբ ստեղծված«Վերլուծական խորհուրդ» աշխատանքային խմբի ձեւավորմանը եւ գործունեության նպատակներին: Այս համատեքստում քննարկվել են Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում ԱՄՆ դեսպանության հետ համագործակցության հնարավոր ուղղությունները:

Կողմերն անդրադարձել են տարածաշրջանային հիմնախնդիրներին: Զրուցակիցները կարեւորել են տարածաշրջանում կայունության եւ անվտանգության ապահովումը, առկա հակամարտությունների խաղաղ կարգավորումը:

Այս համատեքստում անդրադառնալով Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կարգավորմանը՝ Արմեն Աշոտյանը կարեւորել է հարցի խաղաղ լուծումը, տարածաշրջանում խաղաղության եւ կայունության ապահովումը եւ բարձր է գնահատել այս հարցում ԱՄՆ-ի դերը՝ որպես ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահող երկիր: Արմեն Աշոտյանն ընդգծել է, որ ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահներից Հայաստանն ակնկալում է առավել հասցեական մոտեցումներ:

Անդրադառնալով երկու երկրների համագործակցության ուղղություններին՝ դեսպանն իր խոսքում ընդգծել է, որ Հայաստան-ԱՄՆ փոխհարաբերություններն ամուր են:

Հանդիպման ավարտին կողմերն անդրադարձել են նաեւ հետագա համագործակցությանն ու անելիքներին:
