Բրիտանացի գիտնականնները համոզված են, որ մայրանալու հավանականությունը կախված է կնոջ կենսակերպից: Նրանց տվյալներով, երեխա ունենալու տարիքի կանանց կեսը հավելյալ քաշ կամ ճարպակալում ունի, իսկ դրանք ռիսկի գործոններ են թե՛ մոր, թե՛ երեխայի համար։ Հաջող հղիության համար մասնագետները խորհուրդ են տալիս ճիշտ սնվել ու մարզվել չափավոր ռեժիմով։ Նրանց խոսքով՝ կանոնավոր մարզումները հղիության ժամանակ կարող են նվազեցնել կեսարյան հատման կամ դիաբետի զարգացման հավանականությունը։ Իսկ ճիշտ սննդի ու ֆիզիկական ակտիվության համադրությունը թույլ է տալիս զսպել հղիության ընթացքում հավելյալ քաշ հավաքելու հնարավորությունը (քաշը նվազում է միջինը 700 գրամով)։ Կեսարյան հատման հավանականությունն առողջ կենսակերպի դեպքում նվազում է շուրջ 10 տոկոսով, դիաբետի զարգացման հավանականությունը՝ 24 տոկոսով։ Նման եզրակացությունների են հանգել գիտնականները՝ ուսումնասիրելով 16 երկրներից 12.526 հղի կանանց տվյալները։
