Հարլեմ Դեզիրը հորդորել է Թուրքիային դադարեցնել լրագրողների հետապնդումը

Թուրքիայում ընդդիմադիր «Ջումհուրիեթ» պարբերականի աշխատակիցների դեմ քրգործով հուլիսի 24-ից դատական նիստի մեկնարկը ևս մեկ անգամ շեշտադրում է այդ երկրում լրագրությունը պաշտպանելու ու լրատվամիջոցների ազատությունը բարելավելու անհրաժեշտությունը: Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ԵԱՀԿ-ից, այս մասին ասվում է ԵԱՀԿ մամուլի ազատության հարցերով ներկայացուցիչ Հարլեմ Դեզիրի հայտարարության մեջ:
«Ես ուշի ուշով հետևելու եմ դատական գործընթացին, որը սկսվել է այս առավոտ Ստամբուլում՝ ընդդեմ «Ջումհուրիեթ»-ի 17 առաջատար լրագրողների, խմբագիրների և աշխատակիցների, այդ թվում և Ջան Դյունդարի, Քադրի Գյուրսելի, Մուրաթ Սաբունջուի և Ահմեթ Շըքի: Ժողովրդավարության առաջ մղման գործում լրագրությունն առանցքային դերակատարում ունի: Հետևաբար, ես կոչ եմ անում Թուրքիային դադարեցնել հետապնդումը, ազատ արձակել բոլոր այն լրագրողներին, ովքեր բանտարկվել են մասնագիտական գործունեության համար, և նախաձեռնել այնպիսի քաղաքական բարեփոխումներ, որոնք կպաշտպանեն երկրում մեդիայի ազատությունը»,- ասել է Դեզիրը:
Նա ընդգծել է, որ հասկանում է ահաբեկչության դեմ պայքարելու ու ազգային անվտանգությունը պաշտպանելու կարևորությունը, սակայն դա պետք է արվի՝ հարգելով մարդու հիմնարար ազատությունները, այդ թվում և խոսքի ազատությունը: «Խոսքի ազատությունը և անվտանգությունը պետք է առաջ գնան ձեռք ձեռքի տված, քանի որ դա միակ արդյունավետ ճանապարհն է՝ կառուցելու ուժեղ և ժողովրդավար հասարակություն»,- նշել է ԵԱՀԿ ներկայացուցիչը:
Մտահոգություն հայտնելով Թուրքիայում խոսքի ազատության վիճակի առնչությամբ՝ Դեզիրը նկատել է, որ սահմանափակումներից տուժում են ոչ միայն լրագրողները, այլև սոցիալական մեդիայի օգտատերերը, իրավապաշտպանները և ակադեմիկոսները:
«Ջումհուրիեթ» պարբերականի աշխատակիցների դեմ գործողություններ են սկսվել 2016 թվականի հոկտեմբերից: Պարբերականի 17 աշխատակից մեղադրվում է «զինված ահաբեկչական խմբավորման անդամ չլինելով հանդերձ այդ խմբավորմանն աջակցելու», «հանցախմբի անդամ լինելու» մեջ: Մեղադրյալների համար պահանջվում է 7.5-ից մինչև 43 տարվա ազատազրկում:
