Կառնուտի ջրամբարում վերսկսվել են 36-ամյա քաղաքացու որոնողական աշխատանքները: Ենթադրվում է, որ նա ջրահեղձ է եղել ջրամբարում լողալիս:
Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ ԱԻ նախարարության Շիրակի մարզային փրկարարական վարչությունից, հուլիսի 24-ին, ժամը 00:17-ին տեղեկություն է ստացվել, որ 1981 թ. ծնված Կ. Գ.-ը մեկնել է Շիրակի մարզի Կառնուտի ջրամբար և չի վերադարձել, կասկածվում է, որ նա ջրահեղձվել է. անհրաժեշտ է փրկարարների օգնությունը: Դեպքի վայր են մեկնել մեկ մարտական հաշվարկ և մարզային ճգնաժամային կառավարման կենտրոնի օպերատիվ խումբը: Պարզվել է, որ Կառնուտի ջրամբարի արևմտյան հատվածում գտնվող արհեստական լճի (մոտ 5 մ խորությամբ, մոտ 70 մ երկարությամբ և 25 մ լայնությամբ) ափին հայտնաբերվել է Կ. Գ.-ի հագուստը: Ժամը 03:03-ին մթության պատճառով և եղանակային պայմաններից ելնելով որոնողական աշխատանքները դադարեցվել են: «Արդեն առավոտյան 10:30-ից վերսկսվել են որոնողական աշխատանքները: Դեպքի վայրում աշխատում է Սևանից ժամանած հատուկ ջրափրկարարական ջոկատը: Այս պահին աշխատանքները շարունակվում են՝ դեռ դրական արդյունք չունենք»,- տեղեկացրեց Շիրակի մարզային փրկարարական վարչության պետ Արթուր Կարապետյանը՝ կրկին զգուշացնելով, որ մարզի տարածքում գտնվող ջրամբարները վտանգավոր են լողալու համար: «Մենք միշտ զգուշացնում ենք, որ մարզի տարածում չունենք հանրային լողալու տարածքներ, մարզի տարածքում գտնվող բոլոր ջրամբարները վտանգավոր են: Կրկին կոչ ենք անում ու հորդորում ռիսկի չդիմել »,-նշեց Արթուր Կարապետյանը:
