Телеведущий канала CNN Turk Сердар Коруджу опубликовал на турецком сайте bianet.org уникальный архивный документ о Геноциде армян, связанный с городом Мосул (Ирак).
«Я обнаружил в турецких архивах письмо на французском языке, которое датировано 15 июля 1919 года. На нем стоят печать и подпись ответственного лица армянской Патриархии в Константинополе, архиепископа Завена Тер-Еганяна (1869-1947)», — написал журналист, опубликовав фотографии письма.
По словам Коруджу, в письме архиепископ Завен Тер-Еганян оповещает армянскую семью из Эрзрума о том, что отец их семейства Карапет Григор Зарманян погиб в ходе депортации в Мосул в 1916 году.
Журналист напоминает также, что после падения правительства младотурок, одной из важнейших задач армянской Патриархии Константинополя было оказание помощи пострадавшим армянам и оповещение семей о гибели их близких в годы депортации.
