Գավառ քաղաքում մեծ հանդիասվորությամբ տեղի ունեցավ անվանի բարերար Հայրապետ Խաչատրյանի` Կոլոտ Հայրապետի արձանի բացման արարողությունը, որին ներկա էին քաղաքի հասարակությունը, Գեղարքունիքի մարզպետարանի,Գավառի քաղաքապետարանի, քաղաքի հիմնարկ-ձեռնարկությունների աշխատակիցներ, կրթամշակութային ոլորտի ներկայացուցիչներ, ավագանու անդամներ, ուսանողներ եւ Հայրապետ Խաչատրյանի ազգականներն ու ժառանգները:

Արձանի բացման պատիվը ստանձնեցին Գավառի քաղաքապետ Գուրգեն Մարտիրոսյանն ու Հայրապետ Խաչատրյանի թոռ Ռոբերտ Արեւշատյանը: Արձանի բացման արարողության հետ միաժամանակ Գավառի Արվեստի դպրոցն անվանակոչվեց դպրոցի հիմնադիր-բարերար Հայրապետ Խաչատրյանի անունով: Անվանակոչության ցուցատախտակը բացեցին Արվեստի դպրոցի տնօրեն Քրիստինե Բադեյանն ու Հայրապետ Խաչատրյանի ծոռ Լեոնիդ Բունիաթյանը:

Բացման արարողության ժամանակ ելույթներով, շնորհակալական խոսքերով հանդես եկան քաղաքի մտավորականներն ու բնակիչները: Արձանի բնութագրական ելույթով հանդես եկավ նաեւ արձանի հեղինակ, քանդակագործ-ճարտարապետ Դավիթ Մինասյանը:

Միջոցառումը շարունակվեց Գավառի արվեստի դպրոցում, որտեղ կազմակերպվել էր ցուցահանդես` Հայրապետ Խաչատրյանին նվիրված անկյունով եւ Գավառի ուսուցողական, ստեղծագործական կենտրոնների սաների ձեռքի աշխատանքների ցուցադրություններով: Գավառի արվեստի դպրոցի դահլիճում անցկացվեց գրական-գեղարվեստական միջոցառում, որտեղ ելույթներով հանդես եկան ՀՀ վաստակավոր արտիստ, դուդուկահար Գեւորգ Դաբաղյանը, ժողովրդական երգիչ Գուրգեն Դաբաղյանը, արվեստի, երաժշտական դպրոցների սաներն ու անհատ կատարողներ:

Հայրապետ Աղա Խաչատրյանի ազգանվեր գործունեության մասին հանգամանալից ելույթով հանդես եկավ Գավառի երկրագիտական թանգարանի ավագ գիտաշխատող Հասմիկ Հովեյանը. «Հայտնի բարերար Հայրապետ Խաչատրյանի ջանքերով ու միջոցներով ավելի քան մեկ դար առաջ հայրենի քաղաքում կառուցվել է Գեղարքունյաց թեմի աթոռանիստ հանդիսացող Սուրբ Աստվածածին եկեղեցին, Գավառի արվեստի դպրոցի շենքը, դպրոցական երկու այլ շենքեր: Բացի այդ, Հայրապետ Խաչատրյանն ամենատարբեր առիթներով օգնել է կարիքավոր մարդկանց՝ բարի անուն թողնելով սերունդների հիշողության մեջ: Նրա գործն ու Õ �նունը գալիք սերունդներին պետք է ներշնչեն հայրենասիրություն, մարդասիրություն, բարեգործական ձեռնարկներ»,-նշեց Հասմիկ Հովեյանը:

Միջոցառման ժամանակ առաջին անգամ Գավառի արվեստի եւ երաժշտական դպրոցների երգչախմբի կատարմամբ հնչեց Գավառ քաղաքի հիմնը, որի հեղինակը երգահան Կարինե Ղարաբաղցյանն է, իսկ գործիքավորողը` Արթուր Բուռնաչյանը:
