Ամերիկացի գիտնականները պնդում են, որ ամեն օր գազարի օգտագործումը կարող է պաշտպանել մի շարք հիվանդություններից։ Իր օգտակարությամբ այս բանջարեղենը չի զիջում խնձորին։
Գազարի օգուտներն օրգանիզմի համար չափազանց մեծ է։ Այն պարունակում է վիրուսների ու տարբեր հիվանդությունների դեմ պայքարելու համար անհրաժեշտ նյութեր։ Գազար ուտելով մենք ստանում ենք A պրովիտամին, C, D, E, K, B6 և B1 խմբի վիտամիններ, օրգանական նատրիում, բիոտին, կալիում, ֆոսֆոր և մագնեզիում։
