ՀՀ Նախագահի Տիկին Ռիտա Սարգսյանի բարձր հովանու ներքո, ԼՂՀ մշակույթի և երիտասարդության հարցերի նախարարության և ՀՀ մշակույթի նախարարության աջակցությամբ Շուշիի Ռեալական ուսումնարանի բացօթյա տարածքում 2017թ. սեպտեմբերի 1-ին՝ ժամը20:30-ին տեղի կունենա Հարո Ստեփանյանի«Սասունցի Դավիթ» հերոսական օպերայի համաշխարհային պրեմիերան:

Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, ներկայացումը նվիրվում է Արցախի անկախության օրվան, Շուշիի ազտագրման 25-ամյակին և Հարո Ստեփանյանի ծննդյան 120-ամյակին:

«Սասունցի Դավիթ» օպերան Հարո Ստեփանյանը գրել է 1936թ-ին: Լիբրետոն գրել է Դերենիկ Դեմիրճյանը ըստ «Սասունցի Դավիթ» հայ ժողովրդական էպոսի:

«Սասունցի Դավիթ» հերոսական օպերան` իր ինքնատիպ վիպապատմողական երաժշտական լեզվով և ազգային ոգով, հայկական օպերային արվեստի զարգացման նշանակալից փուլ է նշանավորում: Արցախում «Սասունցի Դավիթ» օպերայի անդրանիկ ներկայացումը մշակութային կարևորագույն  իրադարձություն է: 

Կոմպոզիտոր Հարո Ստեփանյանը ծնվել է 1897 թ. Ելիզավետպոլում /այժմ՝ Գանձակ: Մասնակցել է առաջին համաշխարհային պատերազմին: 1919 թ-ից մեկ տարի սովորել է Թիֆլիսի կոնսերվատորիայում Ա. Տեր-Ղևենդյանի դասարանում, իսկ 1923 թվականին ընդունվել է Մոսկվայի Գնեսինների անվան երաժշտական ուսումնարան Միխայիլ Գնեսինի ստեղծագործական դասարան, այնուհետ սովորել է Լելինգրադի կոնսերվատորիայում Վ. Շչերբակովի ստեղծագործական դասարանում։ 1927-1929 թվականների ամռանը Ստեփանյանը մասնակցեց Քրիստաֆոր Քուշնարյանի կազմակերպած ժողովրդական երաժշտության հավաքման արշավին։ Հայաստանի տարբեր շրջաններում, հատկապես Շիրակում, նրանք գրի առան 350-ից ավելի հայկական և քրդական մեղեդիներ։ 1930 թվականից մշտական բնակություն է հաստատել Երևանում։ Հեղինակել է հինգ օպերա, երեք սիմֆոնիա, բազմաթիվ երգեր, ռոմանսներ, կամերային-գործիքային ստեղծագործություններ։ 1930-1934 թթ. ղեկավարել է Երևանի Կոմիտասի անվան կոնսերվատորիայի ստեղծագործական դասարանը, 1938-1947 թթ. Հայաստանի կոմպոզիտորների միությունը: 1938 թվականին ընտրվել է Հայաստանի Գերագույն խորհրդի պատգամավոր։ 1960թ. արժանացել է Հայաստանի ժողովրդական արտիստի կոչման:
