Երեխային ճիշտ գրկելու ձևից է կախված հետագայում երեխայի մկանային համակարգի զարգացումը։ Նրա ոտքերն ու ձեռքերը չպետք է կախված լինեն այս ու այն կողմ, պարանոցը և գլուխը ձեռքերի մեջ պետք է լինեն համահավասար։ Փոքրիկին վերցրեք ձեր ձեռքերի վրա այնպես, ինչպես պառկած էր մահճակալում և ամուր սեղմեք ձեր արմուկին։ Գրկելիս մի ձեռքով ամուր բռնեք երեխայի ձեռքերն ու հետույքը, իսկ մյուսով՝ ոտքերն ու մեջքը։ Այս դիրքը հարմար է երեխային օրերելու համար։
Կարելի է նաև փոքրիկին գրկել թևի վրա՝ դեմքով դեպի ներքև։ Այս դեպքում նրա գլուխն ու վիզը պետք է գտնվեն ձեր արմուկի վրա։ Գրկելու տարբերակներից մեկն էլ հետևյալն է. Մի ձեռքն անցկացրեք երեխայի ոտքերի միջով և ամուր բռնեք նրա ազդրերը։ Գրկած վիճակում լայն բացեք ձեր մատերը և ամուր բռնեք մեջքից։ Այս դիրքը հարմար է երկար տեղաշարժվելու համար:
