Երկիր մոլորակի ստորջրյա կյանքն այնքան հարուստ է և բազմաշատ կենդանի օրգանիզմներով, որքան Տիեզերքում աստղեր կան: Եվ չնայած որ մենք չենք կարող երկնքից աստղեր իջեցնել, ամեն դեպքում հնարավորություն ունենք մեր առօրյա կյանք մտցնելու օվկիանոսի մի փոքրիկ կտոր: Բեռլինի հյուրանոցներից մեկում հենց այդպես էլ վարվել են՝ կառուցելով աշխարհում ամենամեծ ակվարիումներից մեկը և ապակե վերելակը, որի միջոցով հնարավոր է անցնել ակվարիումի միջով և տեսնել ջրային արարածներին: AquaDom ակվարիումը քաղաքի տեսարժան վայրերից մեկն է դարձել և շատ հայտնի է երեխաների շրջանում:
AquaDom-ը գտնվում է բեռլինյան Radisson Blu հյուրանոցում և իրենից ներկայացնում է բարձր գլան՝ ակրիլային ապակիով և ներկառուցված վերելակով: Այցելուները կարող են բարձրանալ այս վերելակով և ավելի մոտիկից տեսնել ջրի բնակիչներին:
AquaDom-ն ունի 25 մ բարձրություն և 11 մ տրամագիծ: Այն համարվում է աշխարհում ամենամեծ գլանային ակվարիումը: 2004 թ. դրա բացվելու պահից այն դարձել է Radisson Blu հյուրանոցի այցեքարտը:
Ակվարիումի մեջ մեկ միլիոն լիտրից ավելի աղի ջուր է լցված: Ընդհանուր առմամբ այն կշռում է երկու տոննա և հիմնված է 9 մետրանոց հիմքի վրա: AquaDom-ի կառուցման համար ծախսվել է 12,8 մլն եվրո:
Արտաքին գլանը կազմված է 26 ակրիլային պանելներից, իսկ ներքինը, որի միջով անցնում է վերելակը, 15 ակրիլային պանելներից: Պանելների վերին հատվածները 16 սմ հաստություն ունեն, իսկ ներքինները՝ 22 սմ:
Ակվարիումում ապրում են ավելի քան 1500 արևադարձային ձկներ և անգամ կորալներ: Այստեղ կարող եք տեսնել Բուրատինոյի քիթ ունեցող ձկների, անգամ նարնջագույնասպիտակ ձուկ-ծաղրածուի: Ընդհանուր հաշվարկով այստեղ կա ձկների 110 տարբեր տեսակ:
Ամեն օր ձկներն ուտում են շուրջ 8 կգ կեր, իսկ նրանց զբաղեցրած տարածքն անհրաժեշտ է մաքրել օրական առնվազն 3-4 անգամ: Այցելուները հիմնականում սիրում են դիտել կերակրման պահը, երբ ձկների հետ միասին ջրում են հայտնվում նաև սուզորդները:
Ակվարիումը համարվում է հյուրանոցի ֆոյեի կենտրոնական տարրը և այն մթնոլորտի մի մասը, որտեղ ցանկանում են ճաշել, ինչ-որ բան խմել կամ էլ հանգստանալ:
