Նույնիսկ եթե մենք ձգտենք դեմքի քարե արտահայտություն ունենալ ու կատարյալ անտարբեր ձեւանալ, մեզ, միեւնույն է, կմատնեն մեր բիբերը. հրապուրիչ «օբյեկտին» նայելիս դրանք լայնանում են։

Մեր մարմինը ձգտում է նրան ու ենթագիտակցաբար հարմարվում նրա մարմնի շարժումներին՝ հայելանման անդրադարձնելով դրանք։ Մենք սկսում ենք կրկնել նրա շարժումները, դիմախաղը։ Որպես կանոն, նման նոպաները մոտ կես րոպե են տեւում, բայց կարող են հետո նորից կրկնվել։ Օրինակ՝ նա մազերն է ուղղում, ու մենք նույնն ենք անում, նա ծնոտն է տրորում, մենք էլ ակամա կրկնում ենք։

Դա անհնար է թվում, քանի որ սեռական գրգռվածության ժամանակ օրգանիզմում արտադրվում է ուրախության հորմոն սերոտոնինը, որը կոչված է մեզ երջանկացնել։ Բայց պարզվում է, որ նման դեպքերում հնարավոր են նաեւ կողմնակի էֆեկտներ՝ օրինակ տրամադրության փոփոխականություն, նյարդային գրգռվածություն, զգացմունքային վերելքներ ու անկումներ, ու որպես հետեւանք՝ դեպրեսիվ վիճակ։ 
Սիրահարվածության ժամանակ սերոտոնինի անբավարար արտադրությունը կարող է արտահայտվել ցանկության օբյեկտի մասին թախծոտ մտքերով, վատ տրամադրությամբ։ Հավանաբար դա է պատճառը , որ սիրո մասին բազմաթիվ տխուր ու դեպրեսիվ երգեր կան։
