Կանադահայ ամուսինները հայի համար միակ հայրենիքը Հայաստանն են համարում: Մարգար և Էլիզ Շարապխանյանները 2007 թվականից ապրում են Արագածոտնի մարզի Ուշի գյուղում: Սեփական միջոցներով վերանորոգել են գյուղի դպրոցը, մշակույթի տունը: Մարգար Շարապխանյանը ծնվել է Հունաստանում, կրթություն է ստացել Իտալիայում, 40 տարի բնակվել է Կանադայում, բայց ինչպես նա վստահեցրեց «Արմենպրես»-ի թղթակցին, միայն Հայաստանում է իրեն հայ զգում: «Տարբեր երկրներում եմ եղել, բայց ոչ մի տեղ՝ ո՛չ Հունաստանում, ո՛չ Իտալիայում և ո՛չ էլ Կանադայում, ես ինձ հայ չեմ զգացել, իմ ինքնությունը միայն Հայաստանում եմ զգում: Դրսում ծնված, մեծացած ու ապրած մարդու համար Հայաստանում ապրել է պետք: Ուզենք, թե չուզենք բոլոր երկրներում օտար ենք, միակ երկիրը որ զգում ենք, որ մերն է, Հայաստանն է»,-նշեց Մարգար Շարապխանյանը՝ փաստելով, որ Հայաստանը միայն Երևանը չէ, այլ մարզերն ու գյուղերն են: «Ես հավատում եմ Հայաստանի գյուղերին, և Հայաստանի գյուղերի տնտեսությունը պետք է զարգանա: Ուշին փոքր գյուղ է՝ 10 տարի առաջ հողամաս գնեցի տուն կառուցեցի, հիմա հողամասում ես և ուրիշներն ենք աշխատում: Դպրոցը նորոգեցինք ու մշակույթի տուն կառուցեցինք»:
Կանադայում 10 տարի համալսարանի գրադարանում աշխատելուց հետո Մարգար Շարապխանյանը 1979 թվականին որոշում է դպրոց հիմնել: Հայ օգնության միության օժանդակությամբ հիմնվեց ՀՕՄ-ի ամենօրյա վարժարանը: «Սկսեցի մանկապարտեզից և ամեն տարի մեկ տարով բարձրացնում էի, այսպիսով՝ 75 աշակերտով սկսեցինք, հիմա վարժարանն ունի 650 աշակերտ: Մեր աշակերտները 18 տարեկանից համալսարան են գնում՝ 100 շրջանավարտից 97-ը այնտեղ համալսարան են ընդունվում: Դպրոցում թեև անգլերեն և ֆրանսերեն են անցնում, բայց հայկական դպրոց է»,- պատմում է Մարգար Շարապխանյանը:
Թեև խորհրդային տարիներին պարոն Մարգարը Հայաստան եկել է, բայց դա այն չէր: «1986 թվականին շրջանավարտներիս ծնողներին կանչեցի և ասացի՝ երեխաներին ժամացույց, խաչ կամ այլ իր նվիրելու փոխարեն Հայաստանի տոմս գնեք, և 22 հոգով եկանք Հայաստան: Խորհրդային տարիներն էին»:
Խոսելով կնոջ հետ Հայաստան գալու մասին՝ պարոն Մարգարը վստահեցրեց՝ ուշեցի են ինքն էլ, կինն էլ: «Չի դժգոհել ու չի դժգոհում: Հայաստան գալու համար պետք է նաև կինդ էլ ուզենա ու քեզ հետ գա: Մենակ չի լինի»,-ավելացրեց Մարգար Շարապխանյանը:
Այսօր էլ ամուսինները շատ ծրագրեր ունեն գյուղի հետ կապված: Կանադա վերադառնալու մտադրություն չունեն: Ուշիով հիացած են և այն համարում են իրենց միակ տունը:
