Մեծ քանակով օգտագործելիս սերմերն առաջացնում են այրոց և աղեստամոքսային համակարգի խնդիրների սրացում: Բոված սերմեր գնելիս դրանք կարող են պարունակել կադմիում, որը վատացնում է սրտի աշխատանքը:
Դրանք կարող են թուլացնել նաև ձայնալարերը, այդ պատճառով երգիչներին խորհուրդ չի տրվում օգտագործել:
