Գյումրիում երիտասարդների օրվան նվիրված տոնական միջոցառումների մեկնարկն ազդարարվեց ոչ ֆորմալ՝ չկոնֆերանսով: Օրվա ընթացքում չկոնֆերանսին երիտասարդության վերաբերյալ ցանկացած բաց զեկույց ու քննարկում խրախուսվում է՝ չկա ո՛չ տարիքային, ո՛չ թեմատիկ սահմանափակում: Գյումրու տեխնոլոգիական կենտրոնում անցկացվող ոչ ֆորմալ հավաքն ընթանում է է միաժամանակ մի քանի լսարաններում՝ հնարավորություն տալով շատերին խոսել իրենց թեմաների շուրջ, իսկ թեմաները բազմազան են ու տարբեր ձևաչափերով ՝ «Մի կերեք զեֆիր», «Սովորել, ինչպես սովորել», «Աշխատել 4 ժամ և գումար վաստակել», «Ինչպես լինել պահանջված մասնագետ» և այլն:
Մինչ աշխատանքային հանդիպումների մեկնարկը, օգտվելով առիթից, նախ բոլորին երիտասարդների միջազգային օրվա առթիվ շնորհավորեցին Շիրակի մարզպետարանի երիտասարդության, մշակույթի և սպորտի վարչության պետ Վաչիկ Վարդանյանը, Գյումրու քաղաքապետարանի մշակույթի բաժնի պետ Արտուշ Մկրտչյանը՝ երկուստեք վստահեցնելով, որ երիտասարդների խնդիրը մարզային ու քաղաքային իշխանությունների ուշադրության կենտրոնում է: Ավելի խաղաղասեր ու նախաձեռնող լինելու ցանկություն էլ հայտնեց «Երիտասարդական նախաձեռնությունների կենտրոն» հասարակական կազմակերպության ղեկավար Արթուր Նաջարյանը: «Աշխարհը փոխել ու փոխելու են երիտասարդները: Ցանկանում եմ, որ չվախենաք խենթ ու խելառ ու ոչ ստանդարտ քայլերից ու կոտրել այն բոլոր կապերը, որոնք կխանգարեն ձեզ առաջ շարժվել»,-իր խոսքում նշեց Գյումրու տեխնոլոգիական կենտրոնի բիզնես մենեջեր Ամալյա Եղոյանը:
Տոնական միջոցառումների շրջանակում, Գյումրու թատերական հրապարակում շուրջ 100 երիտասարդի մասնակցությամբ տեղի կունենա պարային ֆլեշ մոբ, որը նկարահանվելու է: Կլինի նաև բացօթյա համերգ «Արմինե Քոչարյան և ընկերներ» բենդի մասնակցությամբ, որի ընթացքում լինելու է երգի և Շիրակի մարզում լավագույն ծրագրային գաղափարի դրամաշնորհային մրցույթների արդյունքների ամփոփում և մրցանակաբաշխություն, իսկ երեկոյան 21:00-ին երիտասարդներն իրենց երազների թռչող լապտերները կարձակեն երկինք՝ ազդարարելով երիտասարդների միջազգային օրվան նվիրված միջոցառումների ավարտը:
1999 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 17-ին ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր ասամբլեայի որոշմամբ օգոստոսի 12-ը հռչակվել է Երիտասարդների միջազգային օր և աշխարհում առաջին անգամ պաշտոնապես այն նշվում է 2000 թվականի օգոստոսի 12-ից: «Երիտասարդական նախաձեռնությունների կենտրոն» հասարակական կազմակերպության նախաձեռնությամբ 2015 թվականին առաջին անգամ տոնը նշվեց Գյումրիում:
