Երևանի ավագանու «Ելք» խմբակցության առաջարկը՝ անվանափոխել մայրաքաղաքի այն փողոցներն ու դպրոցները, որոնք խորհրդային տարիների հայտնիների անուններ, Հայաստանի կոմունիստական կուսակցության առաջին քարտուղար Տաճատ Սարգսյանը համարում է դրսից հրահրված գործընթաց, որի միջոցով փորձում են սեպ խրել հայ-ռուսական դարավոր բարեկամության միջև: 

«Կան մարդիկ, հասարակական-քաղաքական կազմակերպություններ, որոնք փորձում են սեպ խրել հայ և ռուս բարեկամական հարաբերություններում: Այդ անվանակոչումը ո՛չ «Ելք» կուսակցության, ո՛չ էլ այլ քաղաքական կուսակցության գործն է, դա ժողովրդի գործն է, ժողովուրդն է գնահատել մեծերին և այդ պատվին արժանացրել: Դրա համար ես խորհուրդ կտայի և՛ Ելքին, և՛ մյուսիներին, ովքեր առաջարկում էին Լենինգրադյան փողոցն անվանափոխել, հասկանալ, որ դա մեկ հասարակական կազմակերպության գործը  չէ կամ մեկ հոգու ցանկությունը չի կարող լինել, և դա ընդհանուր ժողովրդի հանրաքվեի միջոցով պետք է կատարվի»,- Tert.am-ի հետ զրույցում ասաց նա: 
 
Տաճատ Սարգսյանն ասաց, որ բոլոր հիմքերն ունի կասկածելու, որ դա դրսից հրահրված գործընթաց է: «Դա պատահական չէ, հրահրած է դրսից, նրանք ընդամենը պատվեր են կատարում, իսկ մենք գիտենք,թե այդ պատվեր տվողն ով է դրսից: Հայաստանը չի կարող Ուկրաինա լինել, Հայաստանը մոնոէթնիկ պետություն է, որտեղ ապրում են հայեր իրենց բնակավայրում և չեմ կարծում, որ լինի մեկ հայ մարդ, որ գնա այդ քայլին»,-ասաց նա:  

Կոմկուսի ղեկավարի խոսքով՝ Խորհրդային Հանրապետության նախկին ղեկավարները պատահական չէ, որ և՛ դպրոցներ, և՛ փողոցներ են անվանակոչել այն մարդկանց անուններով, ովքեր մեծ հերոսական աշխատանք են կատարել: 

«Նրանք են Հայաստանում խորհրդային կարգերը հաստատել, որից հետո Հայաստանի ծաղկման ու բարգավաճման շրջանն է սկսել: Պատահական չէ, որ խորհրդային 70 տարիներին Հայաստանը ծաղկեց ու բարգավաճեց, դա այդ մարդկանց թողած ժառանգության շնորհիվ էր»,- ասաց նա:

Դիտարկմանը, թե ինչպե՞ս է, որ մտահոգվում է օրինակ՝ Լենինգրադյան փողոցի անվանափոխումը կարող է դաշնակից ռուսներին ցավ պատճառել, բայց իրենք նույն Լենինգրադը անվանափոխում են Սանկտ-Պետերբուրգ, Տաճատ Սարգսյանը պատասխանեց, թե դա իրենց գործն է:

«Հարցն այն է, թե մեր դեպքում այդ անվանափոխությունը մեզ ինչ կտա, որ այդ փողոցի անունը վերափոխենք, եթե կասի, որ դա կնպաստի որևէ բանի, մենք միգուցե  նույնպես կմիանանք, դա միայն ու միայն խառնակչության նպատակ ունի, ռուս և հայ ժողովուրդների բարեկամության վրա են ուզում խաղալ, բայց այդ բարեկամությունը դարերի պատմություն ունի: Իզուր չէ, որ մեր մեծերը խորհուրդ են տվել լինել Ռուսաստանի հետ»,-ասաց նա:
