Մասնագետների անցկացրած հետազոտությանը մասնակցել է 88 գեր կին, որոնց բաժանել են 2 խմբի։
1-ին խումբը 3 ամիս շարունակ կերել է միայն առողջ սնունդ, իսկ 2-րդ խումբն առողջ սննդի հետ միասին օրական օգտագործել է նաև 3 գրամ չաման։ Ամեն առավոտ 140 գրամ մածունի մեջ ավելացրել են 1 թեյի գդալ չաման ու կերել այն դատարկ ստամոքսին։
3 ամիս անց արդյունքները ցույց են տվել, որ չաման օգտագործած խմբի կանայք առավել շատ են նիհարել՝ ազատվելով ճարպի 14,64 տոկոսից, իսկ չաման չօգտագործած կանայք ազատվել են ընդամենը 4,91 տոկոս ճարպից։ Չաման օգտագործած կանայք ամսական նիհարել են մինչև 7կգ։
Չամանը նաև կարող է կանխել օրգանիզմում խոլեսթերինի կուտակումը։
