Գերմանիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Զիգմար Գաբրիելը գերմանական DW հեռուստառադիոընկերթյանը տված հարցազրույցում, խոսելով Թուրքիայում կալանավորված Գերմանիայի քաղաքացի հանդիսացող լրագրող Դենիզ Յուջելի մասին, նշել է, որ այդ հարցում Թուրքիայի վրա ճնշում գործադրելու համար Գերմանիան ունի դիվանագիտական և տնտեսական համապատասխան լծակներ:

Ինչպես գրում է DW-ի թուրքական ծառայությունը, Գաբրիելը Դենիզ Յուջելին համարել է Թուրքիայում գտնվող պատանդ:

Ինչ վերաբերում է Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանին՝ Գերմանիայի ԱԳՆ ղեկավարն ընդգծել է, որ Գերմանիան որոշել է այսուհետ «շատ լուրջ չընդունել» նրան:

«Մենք երկար ժամանակ նրա հարցում աշխատում էինք տրամաբանական դիրքորոշում դրսևորել: Սակայն երբեմն պետք է նրան շատ լուրջ չընդունել», - եզրափակել է Գաբրիելը:

Հիշեցնենք, որ Բեռլինի և Անկարայի միջև հարաբերությունները սրվել են վերջերս Ստամբուլում գերմանական պարբերականի թուրք լրագրող Դենիզ Յուջելի ձերբակալությունից ու կալանավորումից հետո: Նա թուրքական իշխանությունների կողմից կասկածվում է «ահաբեկչական կազմակերպությանը հարելու, տվյալների անօրինական օգտագործման, ահաբեկչության քարոզչության համար»: Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելը պահանջել է Անկարայից ազատ արձակել Յուջելին։

Իր հերթին, Թուրքիայի նախագահ Էրդողանը հայտարարել է, որ Յուջելի արտահանձնումը հնարավոր չի լինի, քանի դեռ ինքը նախագահի պաշտոնում է:
