Վատիկանը հույս ունի, որ ԱՄՆ վարչակազմը իրատեսություն կդրսեւորի կլիմայական փոփոխությունների հարցերում՝ այդ թվում դրանց դեմ պայքարում։ Այս մասին հայտնել է Վատիկանի պետական քարտուղար, կարդինալ Պյետրո Պարոլինը ՏԱՍՍ գործակալությանը տված բացառիկ հարցազրույցում՝ Ռուսաստան իր ուղեւորության նախօրեին։

«Հույս ունեմ, որ չնայած նախընտրական մրցապայքարի ժամանակ ԱՄՆ նախագահի տված խոստումներին ու նրան, որ Վաշինգթոնը հայտնել է կլիմայի մասին Փարիզյան համաձայնագրից դուրս գալու մասին՝ այնուամենայնիվ կհաղթանակեն իրատեսական մոտեցումները։ Մեր կողմից մենք կարող ենք միայն ցանկանալ, որ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը, ինչպես եւ միջազգային համայնքի մյուս ներկայացուցիչները, չհրաժարվեն գլոբալ տաքացումն ու դրա հետեւանքները կանխելու ծայրահեղ բարդ խնդրից»,- ասել է նա։

Նա նշել է, որ Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսի ու նախագահ Թրամփի հանդիպումը, որը մայիսի վերջին է կայացել, անցել է փոխադարձ հարգանքի մթնոլորտում։ «Ու ես կասեի՝ փոխադարձ անկեղծության։ Նրանք իրար հետ փոխանակել են մի շարք հարցերի՝ այդ թվում կլիմայական փոփոխությունների մասին իրենց պատկերացումները»,- պատմել է պետքարտուղարը։

Պարոլինը նախազգուշացրել է միջազգային խնդիրներն ուժային մեթոդներով լուծելու վտանգավորության մասին։ «Ժամանակակից միջազգային հարաբերություններում իմ կարծիքով սկսել է ավելի շատ գերիշխել այն ընկալումը, որ քաղաքականությունն ու ռազմավարությունը, որը հիմնվում է բաց դիմակայության ու բախումների վրա, ես դրանք կանվանեի «խլերի երկխոսություն», որը սնում է վախեր ու հիմնված է միջուկային կամ քիմիական զենքով ահաբեկելու վրա, չեն հանգեցնում խնդրի ճիշտ լուծմանն ու չեն նվազեցնում կողմերի միջեւ հակասությունները։ Խաղաղության կառուցումը պահանջում է չկառչել սեփական ազգային շահերից, այ լ իրականացնել համբերատար ու կառուցողական երկխոսություն՝ փոխադարձ հարգանքի հիման վրա։ Ու դա այն է, ինչ բոլորն ակնկալում են համաշխարհային տերությունների ղեկավարներից»,- ամփոփել է կարդինալը։
