Ամերիկացի գիտնականների նոր հետազոտությունը կարող է օգնել բացատել՝ ինչու՞ է փքաբլիթն այդքան լավ համադրվում մեկ բաժակ սուրճի հետ։ Քոնելի համալսարանի գիտնականները պարզել են, որ կոֆեինը ժամանակավորապես նվազեցում է համի զգացողությունը՝ սննդամթերքն ու ըմպելիքները պակաս հաճելի դարձնելով։ Դա մադկանց կարող է ստիպել ավելի շատ քաղցր օգտագործել։ Հեազոտության արդյունքերը հրապարակվել են Journal of Food Science պարբերականում։

Կոֆեինը  ադենոլզինի անատգոնիստ ընկալիչ է՝ միացություն, որը քնկոտություն է առաջացնում եւ նվազեցնում է թարմության զգացողությունը։ Սակայն ադենոլիզի ընկալիչների արգելափակման կողմնակի ազդեցությունն է մարդու՝ քաղցր համի նկատմամբ ավելի զգայուն դառնալը։  Որպես հետեւանք՝ մարդը սուրճի մեջ շատ ավել շաքար է օգտագործում, քան թեյի։

Հետազոտությունների ընէցաում գիտափորձի մասնակիցների մի խումբը ստացել է առանց կոֆեինի սուրճ, իսկ մյուսը՝ 200 գրամ կոֆեինով։ Երկու խմբերի սուրճի մեջ հավասար քանակությամբ շաքարավազ է եղել, սակայն «կոֆեինային» խմբի անդամները այն ավելի պակաս քաղցր են համարեցել։ 

«Երբ կոֆեինով սուրճ եք խմում, այն ազդում է համի ընկալման վա եւ այն բանի վրա, թե որքան է տեւում այդ ազդեցությունը։ Ուստի, եթե սուրճից հետո սնունդ օգտագործեք, ապա դրա համը ձեզ ուրիշ կարող ՝է թվալ, քան առանց նախապես մեկ բաժակ սուրճ ըմպելու»,-ասել է հետազոտության հեղինակ Ռոբին Դանդոն։

Գիտնականները ենթադրում են, որ այդ փաստը հատկապես պետք է  հաշվի առնեն օգտագործած կալրիաների քանակին հետեւող մարդիկ։
