Մասնագետները հավաստիացնում են, որ մի շարք քրոնիկ հիվանդությունների ժամանակ խմելն արգելվում է: Սակայն երբեմն անհրաժեշտ է գտնել փոխզիջումային տարբերակ: Նրանք պնդում են, որ միայն որոշակի քանակությունն է հասցնում կազմալուծվել ստամոքսում՝ չհասնելով լյարդին, ուղեղին և սրտին: Անվտանգ կարելի է համարել 60 գրամ օղին, կոնյակը, վիսկին կամ 180-200մլ գինին կամ շամպայնը, 0,5 լ բաց գույնի գարեջուրը: Իսկ ո՞ր հիվանդության դեպքում, ի՞նչ խմիչք օգտագործել: Սրտային հիվանդներին՝ չոր գինի: Հայտնի է, որ մուգ խաղողներում պարունակվող մակարդները (ֆերմենտ) բարենպաստ են ազդում անոթների վրա: Կարելի է և մեկ գավաթ շամպայն, սակայն առանց գազի: Ընդհանրապես բոլոր գազավորած ըմպելիքները հակացուցված են սիրտ-անոթային խնդիրներ ունեցող հիվանդներին: Բարձր արյան ճնշում ունեցող հիվանդները կարող են խմել քիչ քանակությամբ որակյալ կոնյակ: Այն թուլացնում է անոթների կծկանքները և հեշտացնում արյան շրջանառությունը: Իսկ ցածր արյան ճնշում ունեցողներն ավելի լավ է խուսափեն կոնյակից: Կարելի է խմել մեկ-երկու գավաթ թեթև գինի: Շաքարախտով հիվանդներին խորհուրդ է տրվում օղի: Կարծիք կա, որ «մաքուր» օղին շաքարի քանակի վրա չի ազդում:
