Ավստրալիայում հայտնաբերվել են 20 հզ տարվա հնություն ունեցող մարդկային ոտնահետքեր

Տասնյակ հազարավոր տարիներ հին ավտրալացիների հետքերը թաքնված են եղել ավազի տակ, մինչև որ դրանք պատահաբար չհայտնաբերվեցին Նոր Հարավային Ուելսում: Մի ժամանակ այստեղի գետինը ծածկված էր փափուկ կավով, այդ պատճառով էլ բոլոր տարիքի մարդկանց ոտնահետքերը մնացել են դրա վրա:

2003 թ. տեղի բնակչուհիներից մեկը գտավ տասնյակ հին ոտնահետքեր Ուիլլադրայի 19 ցամաքած լճերից մեկի ափի մոտ:

 

 

«Բացումն» արել է երիտասարդ կին-աբորիգեն Մերի Պապպենը, ով տեղի ցեղերից մեկի անդամ է: Այնուհետև գտածոյով հետաքրքրվել է Սթիվ Ուեբբը Բոնդի համալսարանից: Այս հետքերը միակն են, որ մնացել են Ավստրալիայում պլեստոցենական ժամանակներից: Փաստացիորեն այս ոտնահետքերը համարվում են հնագույն բնակիչների տեղաշարժերի «տեսագրությունը»:

Մինչ այսօր հայտնաբերվել են շուրջ 700 ոտնահետքեր: Ուսումնասիրողները կարծում են, որ դրանք առաջացել են 20 հզ. տարի առաջ մի քանի շաբաթների կամ ամիսների ընթացքում:

 

 

Ավստրալական շրջանը, որտեղ գտնվել են ոտնահետքերը,, այսօր չարացած անապատ է և պատված է ավազով: Այստեղ անձրևներ գրեթե երբեք չեն գալիս, իսկ քամիները ավազը տարածում են դեպի հեռուներ: Ըստ ուսումնասիրությունների՝ առաջին մարդիկ այստեղ ոտք են դրել շուրջ 50 հզ. տարի առաջ, իսկ այս ոտնահետքերի «հեղինակները», հավանական է, որ եղել են մերօրյա ավստրալական աբորիգենների նախնիները:

Ոտնահետքերը պատկանում են ինչպես կանանց, այնպես էլ տղամարդկանց և երեխաների՝ զանազան տարիքի մարդկանց: Կան նաև կենդանիների ոտնահետքեր:

Ուեբբն իր ուսումնասիրությունները կատարել է այլ գիտնականների և ավստրալական ցեղերի ներկայացուցիչների օգնությամբ:

 

 

Գտնվել են կենգուրուի հետևի թաթերի ոտնահետքեր, ինչպես նաև էմուի, որը խոշոր, չթռչող կենդանի է, նման ջայլամի: Մեթյու Կուպերը՝ խմբի անդամներից մեկը, ով Մելբուրնի համալսարանից է, կարծում է, որ այս կենդանու ոտնեհտքերը կարող են օգնել պարզել, թե մարդկանց ոտնահետքերը երբ են առաջացել: Էմուն եղել  է 50-70 օրեկան: Էմուները ձու են դնում ձմռանը հետևաբար կարելի է կարծել, որ հետքերը հայտնվել են ձմռանը կամ ամռան սկզբին:

Ուեբբը հայտնաբերել է, որ ոտնահետքերի տերերից մեկը կարողացել է վազել 34 կմ/ժ արագությամբ, ինչը օլիմպիական ցուցանիշ է:

 

 

Ուսումնասիրելով բոլոր տվյալները, Ուեբբը պարզել է, որ հնադարյան ավստրալացիները եղել են շատ բարձրահասակ, առողջ ու սպորտային: Եղել են նաև ոտնահետքեր, որոնք պատկանել են ընդամենը մեկ ոտք ունեցող մարդու:

Ըստ Ուեբբի՝ այստեղ առնվազն ութ շերտ հաստւթյամբ կավահող կա, այդ պատճառով էլ ատհնարավոր է, որ հազարավոր այլ ոտնահետքեր ևս գտնվեն: Ուսումնասիրվող տարածքն այժմ ծածկված է հատուկ կտորով, որպեսզի պաշտպանված լինի էրոզիայից, քամիներից, անձրևից: Իսկ տեղի բնակիչներն արդեն նախատեսում են տվյալ վայրում մեծ թափով զարգացնել էկոտուրիզմը:
