Վրաստանի նախկին նախագահ, Օդեսայի նախկին նահանգապետ Միխեիլ Սաակաշվիլին հայտարարել է, որ Ուկրաինայի ներքին գործերի նախարարությունը Կիևում ձերբակալել է իր եղբայր Դավիդ Սաակաշվիլիին։

«Այսօր լուսաբացին Ավակովի ՆԳՆ-ի ութ ներկայացուցիչ ձերբակալել է իմ եղբայր Դավիդ Սաակաշվիլիին, երբ նա դուրս է եկել Կիևում իր տնից, ու տարել նրան անհայտ ուղղությամբ: Նա փաստաբան է, ուներ Ուկրաինայում բնակության մասին փաստաթուղթ, հավանաբար, այդկերպ փորձում են ազդել իմ վրա, որպեսզի ես մտափոխվեմ վերադառնալ: Դուք շատ վատ գիտեք ինձ, դա հակառակն՝ ավելի է ամրապնդում իմ վճռականությունը՝ պաշտպանել Ուկրաինան և ուկրաինացիներին»,- գրել է Facebook-ում Սաակաշվիլին:

Սաակաշվիլիի եղբոր ձերբակալության մասին հայտնել է նաև Սոցիալիստական կուսակցության նախագահ Իլյա Կիվան։ Նա 112.ua-ին հայտնել է, որ նախապատրաստվում է նրա արտաքսումը: Կիվայի խոսքով՝ Դավիդ Սաակաշվիլին խախտել է երկրում գտնվելու ռեժիմը:

Օգոստոսի 31-ին Սաակաշվիիլն հայտարարել է, որ մտադիր է Ուկրաինա վերադառնալ սեպտեմբերի 10-ին: Նրա խոսքով՝ նա մտադիր է մտնել երկրի տարածք Լեհաստանի կողմից՝ «Կրակովեց» անցակետով:

Հուլիսի 26-ին Ուկրաինայի միգրացիոն ծառայությունը հայտնել է, որ երկրի նախագահ Պյոտր Պորոշենկոն Սաակաշվիլիին Ուկրաինայի քաղաքացիությունից զրկելու մասին հրամանագիր է ստորագրել: Ինչպես նշել են Ուկրաինայի նախագահի աշխատակազմում, Վրաստանի նախկին նախագահը զրկվել է քաղաքացիությունից այն ստանալու ժամանակ կեղծ տվյալներ տրամադրելու պատճառով: Նա, մասնավորապես, նշել է, որ քննության տակ չի գտնվում ո՛չ Ուկրաինայում, ո՛չ որևէ այլ պետությունում, սակայն իրականում Սաակաշվիլին հեռակա կարգով կալանավորված է Վրաստանում:
