Նյու Յորքի «Մանգոլիա Բայքերի» տորթերի գործարանի աշխատակից Թովմասը ասել է.«Մարդիկ սկսել են ձանձրանալ տորթերից»:
Շատ տորթերի հեղինակներ իրենց գործը սկսել են ոչ այդ կարիերայից,նրանք նույնիսկ պատկերացում չունեին ինչպես դա պատրաստել:Օրինակ Սարա Հարդին սկսել է պատրաստել տորթեր Մադամ Թյուսարդի թանգարան այցելելուց հետո:Նատաշա Քոլլինսը պատրաստել է այնպիսի տորթերի հավաքածու, որ մարդկանց զարմանալու առիթ էր տվել:

2013թ. սկզբին Նատալի Սիդերսֆը ուսումնասիրել է Օհայոյի պետական համալսարանի գեղարվեստական արվեստը ,այժմ նա ասում է,որ իր արվեստը հիդրեյլաստիկ տորթերի եպիկենտրոնն է:Նա հարվածում է իր հայտնի տորթով «Մինչև մահը մեզ մի հատված»բառերով զարդարված նրբաթիթեղ, որի վրա դրված էր իր և ամուսնու գլուխները:
