1. Նախագահ Էրդողանը քիչ առաջ իր ելույթում սպառնաց, որ Թուրքիան կփակի Հս. Իրաքի հետ սահմանը, կդադարեցնի նավթի գնումն ու իր տարածքով տեղափոխումը։ Բայց ամենահետաքրքրական հայտարարությունը հետևյալ տողերն էին. «Մենք գիշերով հանկարծակի կարող ենք գալ» ("Bir gece ansızın gelebiliriz")։ Այս տողերը հայտնի են Թուրքիայում ցանկացած ազգայնականի։ Դրանք ասվել են 1974թ. Կիպրոսի թուրքական «Բայրաք» ռադիոյով՝ ի պատասխան հունական կողմի այն քարոզչության, թե «Թուրքիան չի գա օգնության Կիպրոսի թուրքերին»։ Ի պատասխան այդ պնդումների՝ «Բայրաք» ռադիոն Թուրքիայի անունից հայտարարեց. «Այդքան մի՛ կանչիր ինձ։ Ես մի գիշեր հանկարծակի կգամ»։ Ինչպես հայտնի է, 1974թ. հուլիսի 20-ին Թուրքիայի ԶՈւ սկսեցին Կիպրոսի հյուսիսային հատվածի գրավումը «Աթիլլա» գործողության շրջանակներում։ Դրանից հետո Թուրքիայում տարբեր առիթներով հաճախ կարելի է լսել այս արտահայտությունը որպես սպառնալիք՝ ուղղված հատկապես ազգային փոքրամասնություններին։ Էրդողանն էլ այս տարի մեկ անգամ օգտագործել էր այս արտահայտությունը ահաբեկիչների դեմ։ 

2. Թուրքիայի ԱԳ նախարար Մ. Չավուշօղլուն հայտարարեց. «Եթե իրական միջամտություն լինի մեր թուրքմեն եղբայրների գործերին, ապա դրան անմիջապես կհետևի ռազմական գործողություն»։ Հիշեցնեմ, որ Հս. Իրաքում բնակվում են մի քանի տասնյակ հազար թուրքմեն ցեղախմբեր, որոնք գտնվում են Թուրքիայի հովանու ներքո։
Սա նշանակում է, որ Թուրքիան ցանկության դեպքում կարող է փաստացի ցանկացած պատրվակ օգտագործել Իրաքի Քրդստանի դեմ պատերազմ սկսելու համար։ Մեր օրերի Ֆրանց Ֆերդինանտ։
