Քաղաքագետ Էդգար Վարդանյանին  Թուրքիայի պաշտպանության նախարար Նուրեթթին Ջանիքլին հայտարարությունը, թե Թուրքիայի և Ադրբեջանի Զինված ուժերը միասնական են և անհրաժեշտության դեպքում պատրաստ են ամեն կերպ աջակցել միմյանց, չի զարմացնում։ Նա Tert.am-ի հետ զրուցում նկատեց, որ բովանդակային առումով նորություն չկա,  քանի որ Թուրքիան ժամանակ առ ժամանակ հիշեցնում է, որ  ինքն այս տարածաշրջանում խոշոր խաղացող է, իսկ Ադրբեջանն իր  ռազմավարական դաշնակիցն է: Միևնույն   ժամանակ քաղաքագետը նկատեց, որ հայտարարություն այս օրերին անելն ամենևին պատահական չէր: Նրա կարծիքով՝  հայտարարություն արված էր ՌԴ նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի և Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի հանդիպմանն ընդառաջ:

«Սա նաև մեսիջ է ՌԴ-ին, այսինքն՝ Թուրքիան տարածաշրջանի մեկ այլ խոշոր խաղացողին՝ ՌԴ-ին, մեջիս է հղում, որ ինքը հետ քաշվելու որևէ պատճառ չունի, և խոշոր խաղացող  ՌԴ-ն սա պետք է հաշվի առնի: Թուրքիան ՌԴ-ին ասում է, որ չփորձի ամբողջությամբ իր վերահսկողությունը հաստատել այս տարածաշրջանի վրա, այսինքն՝  ՌԴ-ի կողմից տոտալ վերահսկողության փորձ չարվի»,- ասաց նա:

Ինչ վերաբերում է  հայտարարության այն հատվածին, թե, անպայման, պետք է ազատագրել «օկուպացված» Ղարաբաղ, Վարդանյանը նշեց, որ  սա այն է, ինչի մասին միշտ խոսում  Ադրբեջանի ղեկավարությունը: Նրա գնահատմամբ՝ Թուրքիան ու Ադրբեջանը ևս մեկ անգամ շեշտում են, որ խնդիրն իրենք չեն մոռացել ու բարձրացնելու են բոլոր հնարավոր միջազգային հարթակներում: 

Դիտարկմանը, որ այս անգամ Թուրքիայի հայտարարությանը հայկական կողմն արձագանքեց ԱԳ փոխնախարարի մակարդակով, հնարավո՞ր է՝ հայկական կողմը մտավախություն ունի, որ Թուրքիան ու ՌԴ  փորձ կանեն բարձրացնել Արցախի հարցը և կունենան ադրբեջանամետ դիրքորոշում, քաղաքագետը պատասխանեց.«Չեմ կարծում, որ   նման մտավախություն կարող է լինել: Ընդհանրապես  կարծում եմ, որ այս հարցի վերաբերյալ ՀՀ-ն ու ՌԴ-ն, կարելի է ասել, որ  ունեն միասնական դիրքորոշում: Անկախ ՌԴ-ի դիրքորոշումից չեմ կարծում, որ ՀՀ այս առումով կարող է փոփոխել իր դիրքորոշումը:  Սա այն հարցը չէ, որ ՀՀ ղեկավարությունը կարող է չիմանալ ՌԴ-ի որոշումների մասին, ի տարբերություն այլ հարցերի»:

Քաղաքագետի դիտարկմամբ՝ պաշտոնական Երևանի արձագանքը  միտված էր նրան, որ  փորձեցին ցույց տալ, թե վերահսկում են իրավիճակը: Վարդանյանի խոսքով՝ հայկական կողմի հանգստությունը դեռ չի նշանակում, որ մարտահրավերների դիմակայմանն ուղղված քայլեր չեն անում:

Հիշեցնենք, որ Բաքվում գտնվող Թուրքիայի պաշտպանության նախարար Նուրեթթին Ջանիքլին հայտարարել է, թե Թուրքիայի և Ադրբեջանի Զինված ուժերը միասնական են և անհրաժեշտության դեպքում պատրաստ են ամեն կերպ աջակցել միմյանց։

Իսկ ՀՀ արտաքին գործերի նախարարի տեղակալ Շավարշ Քոչարյանը հայտարարել է, որ Թուրքիան շարունակում է միջամտել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հիմնախնդրի հարցում, ինչն էլ թույլ չի տալիս կարգավորման գործընթացում առաջընթաց արձանագրել։
