Մեր երկրում ապրող տարեց բնակիչներն այսօր բազմաթիվ խնդիրների առաջ են կանգնած: Խնդիրների թոփ տասնյակի առաջին հորիզոնականը զբաղեցնում են նրանց առողջապահական և սոցիալական հարցերը:

Հայաստանում դժվարամատչելի բժշկական սպասարկումը դժվարացնում է տարեցների կյանքը:

«Տարեցների առողջության և խնամքի ապահովման ասոցիացիա»–ի հիմնադիր նախագահ Արթուր Թորոսյանի խոսքով՝ այսօր հանրապետությունում կենսաթոշակները ցածր են, իսկ դեղորայքի գներն էլ բարձր, ինչը ստիպում է տարեց մարդկանց խնդիրների առջև հայտնվել:

«Տարեցները հիմնականում իրենց թոշակների հաշվին են ապրում: Նրանք իրենց թոշակների 90 տոսը ծախսում են միայն դեղերի ձեռք բերման վրա: Չլուծված են մնում նրանց կոմունալների ու սննդի հարցերը»,– «Փաստ» օրաթերթի հետ զրույցում փաստեց Թորոսյանը:

Մեր երկրում արդեն ավանդույթ է դարձել՝ որոշակի տարիքից հետո մարդիկ այսպես ասած «անպետք» են համարվում: Թոշակի անցնելուց հետո, մարդկանց հեռացնում են գործից՝ ոտնահարելով նրանց աշխատանքային իրավունքը: Սա դիտվում է որպես տարիքային խտրականություն, ինչը քրեորեն պատժելի է համարվում:
«Տարեցների առողջության և խնամքի ապահովման ասոցիացիա»–ի նախագահը բարեկեցիկ ծերություն ապահովելու հարցում պայքարը հենց այս ավանդույթի դեմ է տեսնում:
«Տարեցները կարող են աշխատել, կրթել: Այսօր տարեցների ինքնադրսևորման միջոցներ չկան»,– նկատեց տարեցների խնդիրներով զբաղվող Արթուր Թորոսյանը:
Այսօր էլ հենց կառավարության նիստում վարչապետ Կարեն Կարապետյանը հանձնարարել է տարեցների սոցիալական պաշտպանությունից և խնամքից անցում կատարել դեպի առողջ և ակտիվ ծերացում: Նա նաև հանձնարարել է քննարկել աշխատաշուկայում տարեց մարդկանց ընդգրկելու հնարավորությունները:
«Եթե չլինեն թոշակների բարձրացում, չլինեն պետպատվերով բուժման տարբերակներ, ակտիվ ծերացման գործընթացը հնարավոր չի իրականացնել: Տարեցների սոցիալական ապահովությունն իրականացնելու հարցում հիմնական դերը պետությանն է»,– մատնանշեց նա;

Հայաստանում այսօր ապրում է շուրջ 387000 տարեց, որոնք կազմում են բնակչության 12,9%–ը: Ամբողջ աշխարհում բնակչությունը դեպի ծերացում է գնում, որովհետև ծնելիությունը կտրուկ անկում է ապրել: ՄԱԿ–ի կանխատեսումներով՝ 2050 թվականին առաջին անգամ պատմության մեջ կգրանցվի տարեցների քանակի աճ: Սա լուրջ մարտահրավեր է, քանի որ աշխատուժի քանակը նվազում է:

1992 թվականից հոկտեմբերի 1–ն աշխարհում նշվում է որպես տարեցների միջազգային օր: Տարեց մարդիկ հիշեցնում են՝ ծերանալ՝ չի նշանակում մոռացված լինել:
