Նախագահն ընդունել է ԵՄ Խորհրդի Քաղաքական և անվտանգության հարցերով կոմիտեի պատվիրակությանը

Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն այսօր ընդունել է ԵՄ Խորհրդի Քաղաքական և անվտանգության հարցերով կոմիտեի պատվիրակությանը՝ կոմիտեի նախագահ Վալտեր Սթիվենսի գլխավորությամբ:

Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, պատվիրակության կազմում են Բրյուսելում հավատարմագրված ԵՄ քսանութ երկրներից դեսպաններ և կոմիտեի ներկայացուցիչներ: 

Այցի նպատակն է՝ քննարկել ՀՀ-ԵՄ հարաբերությունների ընթացքն ու հեռանկարները՝ նոր շրջանակային համաձայնագրի բանակցությունների ավարտի լույսի ներքո, տեղում ծանոթանալ իրավիճակին, ինչպես նաև անդրադառնալ Արևելյան գործընկերության առաջիկա գագաթնաժողովի օրակարգային հարցերին, մտքեր փոխանակել Հարավային Կովկասի տարածաշրջանի ընդհանուր քաղաքական և անվտանգության խնդիրների ու մարտահրավերների շուրջ:

Հանրապետության Նախագահը ողջունել է հյուրերին Հայաստանում և կարևորել նման ձևաչափով հանդիպումներն ու քննարկումները, որոնք, Նախագահի համոզմամբ, լավ հնարավորություն են անմիջականորեն քննարկելու երկկողմ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող բոլոր հարցերը: 

Նշելով, որ ընդամենը երեք օր առաջ Հայաստանում էր Եվրոպական հանձնաժողովի հարևանության քաղաքականության և ընդլայնման բանակցությունների հարցերով հանձնակատար Յոհաննես Հանը, իսկ դրանից մեկ օր առաջ ՀՀ-ում ԵՄ ներկայացուցչության ղեկավար, դեսպան Սվիտալսկիի մասնակցությամբ բացվեց ԵՄ օժանդակությամբ կառուցված Հայաստանի հյուսիսային սահմանների արդիականացված վերջին անցակետը, որը բարեփոխումների հերթական փուլի ավարտն էր ՀՀ մաքսային համակարգում, Նախագահ Սարգսյանն ընդգծել է, որ շփումների այսպիսի ինտենսիվությունը խոսում է այն մասին, որ ԵՄ-ն ՀՀ արտաքին հարաբերություններում ունի կարևոր դերակատարում: 

ԵՄ Խորհրդի Քաղաքական և անվտանգության հարցերով կոմիտեի նախագահն ընդգծել է, որ ԵՄ-ն մեծ կարևորություն է տալիս Արևելյան գործընկերների, այդ թվում՝ Հայաստանի հետ հարաբերություններին և ուրախ է, որ Հայաստանը նախաստորագրել է ԵՄ-ի հետ Համապարփակ և ընդլայնված գործընկերության համաձայնագիրը, ինչը, ըստ նրա, ցույց է տալիս, որ միանգամայն հնարավոր է ԵՄ-ի հետ կնքել համաձայնագիր և զարգացնել փոխգործակցություն՝ լինելով Եվրասիական տնտեսական միության անդամ: Նա շեշտել է, որ ԵՄ կողմից Արևելյան գործընկերության շրջանակներում իրականացվող քաղաքականությունն ուղղված չէ որևէ մեկի դեմ:

Անդրադառնալով ԼՂ հիմնախնդրի կարգավորմանը՝ Վալտեր Սթիվենսն ընդգծել է, որ ԵՄ-ն աջակցում է ԵԱՀԿ ՄԽ համանախագահների ջանքերին:

Կոմիտեի նախագահը նշել է նաև, որ ԵՄ-ն հետաքրքրված է և աջակցում է Հայաստանում բարեփոխումների, այդ թվում՝ տնտեսական բարեփոխումների շարունակականությանը, կարևորում է սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների արդյունքում առավել արդյունավետ կառավարման իրականացումը, արդարադատության, մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության, ժողովրդավարական հաստատությունների ամրապնդման ուղղությամբ իրականացվող աշխատանքները: 

Վալտեր Սթիվենսը հանդիպման ժամանակ նաև երախտագիտություն է հայտնել սիրիական ճգնաժամի պատճառով Հայաստանում 20 հազարից ավելի սիրիացի փախստականների ապաստան տալու համար:
